A Disney World Hotel Attraction REOPENS Tomorrow!

Staying at a Disney World hotel can add to the immersive experience of being at the Most Magic Place on Earth. We love hanging by the pools in the afternoon to get some relaxation in. Now we have some exciting news about one Disney World hotel pool (more specifically the waterslide there)!

The Dig Site Pool waterslide closed for refurbishment on Monday, May 13th.

It was closed through today, May 19th, but it will officially reopen tomorrow, May 20th! While the waterslide was closed, the Dig Site Pool, hot tub and smaller pool remained open.

4 Disney World Hotel Pools I’ll Never Use Again

This week will see one other opening, but many attractions will remain closed. Let’s see what else will be closed the week of May 19th through 26th in Disney World!

Tiana’s Bayou Adventure

Splash Mountain closed on January 23rd, 2023, and the new ride taking its place will remain closed until June 28th!

Disney is re-theming the ride to give it a Princess and the Frog theme. When it reopens, it’ll be called Tiana’s Bayou Adventure! We recently noticed some major changes like Imagineers riding it for testing as well as some of the walls finally coming down. Disney has also shared a look at new characters coming to the ride!

Two new stores were also announced to open near the ride — Critter Co-Op and Tiana’s Bayou General Store!

We can’t wait until it opens on June 28th! Plus, Annual Passholders, DVC members, Cast Members, and D23 Gold Members will have the opportunity to preview it early. We don’t know about you, but we’re getting EXCITED!

Disney Revealed an ICONIC New Detail For Tiana’s Bayou Adventure in Disney World!

Country Bear Jamboree is currently being reimagined in Magic Kingdom! The show closed on January 27th and should reopen with the new, updated show sometime this summer.

Tomorrowland Terrace

Tomorrowland Terrace in Magic Kingdom has only ever been open occasionally, usually during particularly busy seasons. However, it’s been a LONG time since we’ve seen this spot open.

Restaurant Marrakesh

Restaurant Marrakesh is kind of closed and kind of not. The restaurant will soon be used as an Annual Passholder lounge during the V.I.Passholder Days!

Passholders can visit the lounge from May 1st through June 18th, 2024 at Restaurant Marrakesh. However, we’re still waiting for the full dining experience to return!

Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster

Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster in Disney’s Hollywood Studios closed on January 8th and will remain closed for a pretty long time. The ride is expected to reopen in the summer of this year, which means the refurbishment will last at least a few more months.

Voyage of the Little Mermaid

The Voyage of the Little Mermaid as we know it will NOT return to Disney’s Hollywood Studios. It’s closed now, and Disney has confirmed that this show has permanently closed to make way for an updated version.

“The Little Mermaid – A Musical Adventure”, an all-new stage show, will replace the show in the Animation Courtyard theater in Fall 2024.

Vacation Fun

Vacation Fun – An Original Animated Short with Mickey & Minnie will be temporarily closed from April 29th through May 25th, so at the end of this week, you’ll get to watch it again!

The show is at the Mickey Shorts Theater near Echo Lake and is a great place to catch some air conditioning and rest. We’ve noticed a couple of other shows temporarily closed for refurbishments in Hollywood Studios, so we would guess that this theater could get some updates. We’ll be waiting to find out!

Typhoon Lagoon was closed for several months but finally opened on March 17th, 2024! Woo hoo!

However, on that same day (March 17th) Blizzard Beach closed for refurbishments. Since it just closed, we do not know when it will reopen again, but since 2020 we’ve noticed that the two water parks will flip-flop being open.

That means that even though we’re getting closer to summer, we may only have one option of water parks to go to. We’ll be watching for news of Blizzard Beach reopening, but this summer head over to Typhoon Lagoon!
