Ahoy, Mateys.

As we look forward to the new year and all the big changes we’ll get at Disney World when 2024 rolls around, we can’t help but be greedy. Yep, all we can think about is the other cool stuff that Disney teased this year that we don’t know much about yet. Exhibit A: THE PIRATES OF THE CARIBBEAN RESTAURANT. Yessiree, we are still obsessing over the D23 announcement made back in September — when Disney confirmed that a Pirates of the Caribbean “tavern” would come to Disney Word. How are they just gonna drop somethin’ like that on us and then not share deets… Rude! Anyway, we were thinking about it today, and we just have a few wishes — in case our Fairy Godmother is listening.
These dreams of ours are very ambitious, but they are dreams nonetheless. Let’s get into it.
We want it to be a LOUNGE.
Yes, a lounge. No, not a restaurant. We think that Magic Kingdom could truly benefit from a more intimate lounge experience similar to Oga’s Cantina or Trader Sam’s. With the Pirates theming, this could be a huge hit.

Alcohol is now served in Magic Kingdom, so what better time and opportunity to slowly introduce it to the park as part of a lounge experience — where it’s in a controlled environment?
We want a Jack Sparrow meet and greet.
A character lounge? With Jack Sparrow? Are you kidding? Yes, we understand that alcohol and character meet and greets might not mix well, but they do it in EPCOT all the time. Heck, you can get wine at Cinderella’s Royal Table!

If we could have a couple drinkies in a Pirates-themed lounge while we gazed at a Johnny Depp lookalike, we would be pretty darn content.
The most ELABORATE of elaborate theming.
We want to feel like we are truly submerged into the lore of Pirates of the Caribbean. We want to drink out of glasses and mugs that look like little kegs of rum, and we want to eat off tables that look like the wheels were ripped off the ships of our enemies and provided for us as a table. Too aggressive? Maybe.

Heck, we’d even sit on barrels as seating if Disney made them comfy enough. An Imagineer out there knows how to do it.
Music. Chess. Fun.
Live music from a pirates band? We’d LOVE that. Also, games could be fun. Like, you know, the pirates in the queue eternally playing chess?

Let’s bring that energy and have games available in the lounge to enjoy while we eat, drink, and sing our sea shanties.
Well, there you have it. Those are our big dreams. We’ll see if they come true. Make sure to follow along here at AE so that you never miss a thing!
