WARNING! Big Thunder Mountain Railroad Is Temporarily CLOSING Next Month in Disney World

This is just a warning: but even if you’ve planned out every aspect of your Disney World trip, not everything will go according to plan.

That’s because you can’t predict things like the weather (which can close rides), rides having technical issues, or even crowds. However, you can at least plan — a little — when rides have refurbishment schedules because you’ll at least have some fair warning. So we’re going to warn you about such a ride closing in Disney World.

Big Thunder Mountain Railroad in Magic Kingdom is closing for refurbishment on January 16th. But don’t worry because it won’t be closed for long. It’s scheduled to reopen on January 22nd.

If you are visiting Disney World during that time, you might have to re-prioritize your ride list. Of course, there’s always Magic Kingdom’s OTHER mountain, Space Mountain in Tomorrowland, if you’re still looking for a thrill. For the little ones, Barnstormer in Storybook Circus could also be a good alternative.

January is often a time when things at Disney World get refurbished. That even includes the Skyliner, which will be closed at around the same time: from January 16th to 21st with Skyliner service from Disney’s Riviera Resort to EPCOT closed through January 27th.

We’ll keep an eye out for more refurbishments and closing, so be sure to check back with AllEars again soon.
