Have you ever been on a Disney Cruise?

If not, you might be a little overwhelmed by all the decisions you’ll have to make when booking a cruise. How long of a cruise would you like to take? Where would you like to go? Which ship would you like to sail on? Well, we can help with that last question.
Today, we’re taking a look at which Disney cruise ship you should select based on your favorite Disney World hotel.
Before we get started, you can check out our video pitting the Disney Wish against the Disney Fantasy right here.
Now let’s get back to our list!
If your favorite hotel is Disney’s Contemporary Resort or Disney’s All-Star Movies Resort, the ship you’ll want to cruise on is the Disney Magic. Why? Well, much like the Contemporary was the first hotel in Disney World, the Magic was the first Disney Cruise ship. So if you like the classics, this one is for you.

However, the Disney Magic is also a great choice for those who love Disney’s All-Star Movies. If you’ve been to All-Star movies, you’ll know that there’s an entire section devoted to Fantasia, as well as a pool with Sorcerer Mickey in the middle of it. Well, Sorcerer Mickey can be found on the bow of the Magic.

If your favorite hotel is Disney’s Art of Animation Resort, especially if you love The Little Mermaid section of the hotel, the perfect ship for you is the Disney Wonder. Why? Because Ariel is the main statue in the Wonder’s atrium, making her the star of the show.

However, if you’re a fan of the Tiana-themed rooms at Disney’s Port Orleans — Riverside, you’ll also love the Disney Wonder, where you’ll find some New Orleans-inspired dining at Tiana’s Palace. PLUS you’ll get to see Tiana, too.

If you love Disney’s Port Orleans — French Quarter, then you need to set sail on the Disney Dream. The French Quarter hotel is small and older but has a very cute and cozy vibe. Likewise, the Disney Dream feels just as cute and cozy.

If you like Disney’s other two moderate resorts Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort or Disney’s Coronado Springs Resort, you’ll want to take a cruise on the Disney Fantasy. Of all the ships, this one feels closest to a moderate resort. The Fantasy isn’t a MASSIVE ship, but it’s also not the smallest in the fleet.

For those of you who are deluxe hotel kind of folks — we’re talking Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort or Disney’s Riviera Resort, you’ll want to sail on the most recent ship in the fleet, the Disney Wish. Right now, the Wish is probably the swankiest ship with themed dining and sophisticated adults-only spaces like Nightingale’s, a piano bar inspired by Cinderella.

That leaves you adventure-seekers, who prefer to stay at places like Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort, Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge, and Disney’s Wilderness Lodge. Although the Disney Treasure doesn’t take its inaugural cruise until December 2024, that is going to be the ship for you — its entire theme is about adventure.

The Disney Treasure will feature a Haunted Mansion bar, a Coco restaurant, a Moana show, and more! The atrium is inspired by Aladdin and will feature a statue of Aladdin and Jasmine on the Magic Carpet.
