Why Disney Adults Are So Obsessed with Figment

Yes, we love the festivals and the different food you can try throughout the World Showcase, but we’re talking about Figment! But why does everyone love Figment? We took to Facebook to ask, and you gave us your answers!

Figment reminds many of our readers of their childhood — he is an 80s icon!

Many of our readers said that Figment brings back positive memories from their childhood. Some of them even shared that their late parents were lovers of Figment, and so he reminds them of their family as well.

And what better place to be reminded of your childhood than Disney World?

He’s OG EPCOT!

Figment is also one of the last remaining pieces of the original EPCOT. Even though the ride has changed a few times (we’ll get into that in a second), Figment himself is from opening day!

We love Figment!

Journey Into Imagination with Figment is the third iteration of this ride, and many fans miss the original ride from the 80s with Dreamfinder. The second version of the ride was despised by many fans and didn’t last long. Disney quickly closed that ride and replaced it with Journey Into Imagination with Figment, what we have today, in 2002. Figment, however, has been featured in all three versions!

Since Figment is one of the few aspects of the park remaining that are from opening day in 1983, his presence reminds people of what the park once was.
