From Disney+ subscriber count data to theme park revenue, there’s a lot to unpack. Now, we’re back to discuss the Disney Parks, Experiences and Products revenue — and how it will impact guests going forward.

The Disney Parks, Experiences and Products revenues for the quarter increased 17% to $7.8 billion. Segment operating income also increased 23% to $2.2 billion.

Disney cited operating income growth within the domestic parks and experiences division, attributing the growth to an increase at Disney Cruise Line. Thanks to an increase in passenger cruise days (including the addition of the Disney Wish), Disney was able to grow its income from the previous quarter.

That said, Disney explained, “Results at our domestic parks and resorts were slightly unfavorable to the prior-year quarter, as a decrease at Walt Disney World Resort was largely offset by growth at Disneyland Resort.”

In short, the decrease at Walt Disney World Resort was due to higher costs, cost inflation, increased expenses associated with new guest offerings, and higher depreciation. With this data in mind, Disney execs stated, “We’re looking at ways to address cost management.”

EPCOT

This quarter, Disney saw an increase in volumes due to attendance growth and higher occupied hotel room nights. Disneyland Resort reported growth in attendance and guest spending, and the increases in average ticket prices and average daily hotel room rates also helped increase income.

With the increasing operating costs and added expenses of all Disney’s upcoming attractions and experiences, it seems like prices won’t be decreasing for guests any time soon. Stay tuned for more information.
