Rides close in Orlando theme parks all the time.
Sometimes it’s due to weather (outdoor rides will close in bad weather), but a lot of times technical difficulties are to blame. The more technologically advanced the ride, or the older the ride, the more likely they are to go down. But what rides closed the MOST this month in Disney World and Universal Orlando? We’ve got all the info right here!
Disney World
Magic Kingdom
In Magic Kingdom, Prince Charming’s Regal Carrousel closed the most in the park — 41 times over 24 days!
This is an opening day attraction, so it does need a little bit of work sometimes. The Tomorrowland Transit Authority PeopleMover was second on the list, closing 32 times over 18 days.
Neither of these rides is very technologically advanced (compared to other rides), but they do have a lot of moving parts that act up every now and then.
Disney’s Hollywood Studios
It’s no surprise that Rise of the Resistance was the ride that went down the most in this park, closing 55 times over 23 days!
Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster was the next ride that went down the most, totaling 34 times over 18 days.
This ride is closed for a lengthy refurbishment now to hopefully help avoid as many unexpected closures in the future as possible.
EPCOT
EPCOT’s rides did alright compared to Magic Kingdom and Hollywood Studios — Test Track went down the most, closing 30 times over 20 days.
Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure closed a lot in February as well with 26 closures over 18 days!
Considering this is another trackless dark ride like Rise of the Resistance, it’s not a surprise to us that this one made the list.
Disney’s Animal Kingdom
Animal Kingdom did the best out of all the Disney World parks. Dinosaur was in the top spot with 14 closures over 13 days.
Expedition Everest was the next on this list, closing 8 times over 8 days.
You go, Animal Kingdom, having the least amount of closures! We’re proud of you. 👏
Universal Orlando
Islands of Adventure
To our surprise, The Cat in the Hat went down the most with 45 closures over 22 days!
It wasn’t as surprising, however, to see that the ride that closed the second most this month was VelociCoaster, closing 36 times over 19 days.
This is the most intense coaster in the park to some, so it’s definitely common for things to go wrong or need to be fixed quickly. It’s also outside meaning weather can have an impact on the number of times it closes.
Universal Studios
In the other park, Men in Black: Alien Attack went down the most with 36 closures over 21 days.
Transformers: The Ride 3D went down often as well with 35 closures over a span of 19 days.
And those were the rides that closed the most in February! March is going to be a big month in one specific Disney park, and you should also make sure you head into Disney Springs this month, too. As always, stay tuned to AllEars for all the latest Disney news.
