For many, one of the best parts of visiting the Disney parks is meeting the ICONIC characters. Over the past few months, more and more meet-and-greets have returned, giving folks the chance to meet their favorite friends once again.

Just recently, Pete’s Silly Sideshow re-opened in Magic Kingdom, and more of these spaces are scheduled to re-open soon! But what if you want to meet a character AND skip the line? Well, you should be able to do that at one spot soon!
Many character meet-and-greets have returned to the parks and are available via a standard standby queue. But many also give you the chance to SKIP the line by using (and paying for) Genie+.
One place that is re-opening this month is Ariel’s Grotto! This spot, located right next to Under the Sea – Journey of the Little Mermaid, lets you meet princess Ariel in her mermaid form. She is returning to her grotto on January 22nd. Since this spot has been closed for a LONG time, there could be significant crowds waiting to meet the Mermaid, but we have some important news!

It appears that Ariel’s Grotto will likely be added to Genie+! How do we know? There’s a new Lightning Lane sign outside of the attraction! Though the attraction has not yet been added to the Genie+ website for Disney World as a Magic Kingdom experience available through the service, we expect that could be updated once it opens.
Once added to Genie+, guests will have the option of reserving a time to return and hop in the Lightning Lane to meet this princess with a shorter wait. We’ll keep an eye out for more updates.

If you’ve never used Genie+ or reserved Lightning Lanes before, we ALL kinds of tips and tricks for you to check out!
