NEW Construction Updates at the Moana Attraction in EPCOT

We’ve got more construction news from EPCOT!

Moana Journey of Water construction

We’ve seen lots of construction over in Disney Springs and Disney’s BoardWalk, and EPCOT is largely still nicknamed “WallCot” because of all the construction. We’re taking an updated look at how Journey of Water, Inspired by Moana is coming along!

The last we’d seen, Te Fiti had landed at the construction site!

Te Fiti is here!

Here’s a recent look at part of the construction site.

An overview

The rock formations and pathways are really starting to come together, and thanks to the placing of Te Fiti, we know where the center of the attraction is, which gives us a better idea of how much building there is left to do.

A wider look

A wider look at the site also shows a row of trees that has been planted alongside the current construction wall. The concrete pathways are also starting to be built along the attraction — no more dirt! (Look closely, the colors almost blend together!)

Construction vehicles

Construction vehicles near an open part of the attraction show though that there’s still lots to come for this project, and we’ll be keeping our eyes and ears open!

From a distance

Reminder: the attraction is not set to open until late 2023. In about one year’s time, guests should be able to walk through!

If you’re visiting Disney World this holiday season, make sure you know about all the closures that could impact your trip, and get ready for long wait times. As always, stay tuned to AllEars for all the latest Disney news!
