Unfortunately when you come to Disney World, there will probably be at least a couple of rides or experiences that are closed.

Usually refurbishment closures only last from a few days to about a month, but sometimes they can go a bit longer (we’re looking at you, Expedition Everest). Today, we’ve got another refurbishment to share with you — luckily it only lasts for a few days!
Big Thunder Mountain Railroad in Magic Kingdom is closing for refurbishment on January 9th. The ride is listed on the refurbishment calendar starting that day.

As of January 14th, though, the ride is set to reopen according to the Disney World website.

Although this is a short closure, it could have a big impact if this is a must-do and you are visiting Magic Kingdom on these dates. For any thrill-seekers who won’t be able to ride this, check out Space Mountain over in Tomorrowland!
Also if you are at Disney World before and after the refurbishment, consider changing your Park Pass Reservations if your current ones have you in Magic Kingdom during this closure. As of the writing of this post, there is full availability in all parks for all guests.

We’ll continue to keep you updated on all of the closures in Disney World, so stay tuned to AllEars!

I would never come when it would be closed.
