Fantasmic! and Extended Evening Hours Canceled in Disney World Due to Tropical Storm Nicole

Tropical Storm Nicole is the 14th named storm of the 2022 Atlantic hurricane season, and it’s expected to hit Central Florida in the next couple of days.

Disney World has been making preparations for the storm, some of which include removing reservation ability for hotels, suspending park passes, and closing certain areas of the Resort. Now, 2 nighttime events at Disney World have been canceled as Central Florida braces for the storm’s arrival.

The scheduled performance of Fantasmic! for tonight (November 9th) has been canceled. This show recently returned to Disney’s Hollywood Studios with new scenes and effects. It was supposed to run at 8PM but will not happen tonight.

Hollywood Studios is still scheduled to be open until 9PM, although this could change if Disney deems the threat of the storm to be severe enough.

In addition, the Extended Evening Hours event that was scheduled for tonight (November 9th) in Magic Kingdom has been canceled. This event was supposed to run from 10PM til midnight.

Magic Kingdom is currently scheduled to be open until 11PM.

According to Wesh 2, Tropical Storm Nicole is expected to become a Category 1 hurricane on Wednesday evening. Tropical storm warnings have been posted for both Orange and Osceola counties (where Disney World is located).

Experts are predicting that “the worst of the weather will arrive late Wednesday into Thursday morning” for Central Florida. Some of the conditions could include isolated tornadoes and tropical-storm-force winds.
