Why Your Parking Tram Ride Will Be Cut Short In Magic Kingdom Right Now

Of all the things that park-goers missed as Disney World has progressed through its phased reopening, parking trams might top the list.

Do you drive to Magic Kingdom?

Parking tram service had been suspended in the parking lots at all four parks for a little over 18 months before Disney announced that they would be coming back, meaning that those who opted to drive needed to log a few extra steps to get into and out of the park. And, though Magic Kingdom parking trams returned at the end of 2021, there’s one reason that you might still be walking more than you’d like if you’re visiting soon!

Right now, the parking trams at the Ticket and Transportation Center (aka Magic Kingdom’s parking lot) are not operating in the way that they usually do.

Oh no!

Currently, construction is obstructing the parking tram route through the tunnel between the security entrance and parking lots. While signage in the area says that “Trams are not operating today,” we did find that the parking trams were in fact operating — just a little differently.

Instead of taking guests all the way up to the security entrance, trams are dropping guests off and picking them up in the area before the entrance to the tunnel from the parking lot. So, you’ll have a little bit of extra walking to do.

A Cast Member that we spoke with shared that the construction is expected to be done by next week, allowing for the trams to operate normally. Of course, we’ll keep an eye out for updates, so be sure to stay tuned to AllEars for the latest!
