There have been many things missing from Disney World since the parks reopened in July of 2020.

We’re still walking!

We’ve slowly seen resorts reopen, entertainment come back, and health and safety measures disappear, but one thing that we’ve really missed hasn’t yet returned…parking trams!

Today, Disney Parks announced on Twitter that parking trams are returning to Walt Disney World soon, starting with Magic Kingdom this month. The trams will return to the other three parks in 2022.

We know that many Disney fans out there are thrilled to hear this news, and we can’t wait to check them out very soon! We’ll be searching the parking lot daily to let you know as soon as they arrive.

  1. My sister and I were at Disneyworld the last week of September. We were both really upset by the lack of trams in the parking lot. Aside from the miles you have to walk, it was completely unsafe! In the center of the parking lot there is a huge mountain of dirt with a green fence around it. When walking from your car, the 2 sides of the parking lot merge into one driveway at the end of the pile. You then cross a little waterway, where the signs for alligators and snake awareness are posted, and continue walking between the front parking lots for preferred, handicapped, etc. At night, when walking back to try to find your car in what feels like another land, far far away, cars are exiting the parking lot on the same driveway as all the guests. There is very poor lighting, we saw the head of a small alligator peaking up from that small waterway, and when you get to the big mountain of dirt and turn right or left, the cars are also turning. There is no shoulder or walkway at this point. You are in the driveway. Cars were turning just feet from families with strollers and small children in the dark. It was completely and ridiculously dangerous. Meanwhile, the trams are parked in a line way out in Neverland and about thirty cast members are directing traffic in the lot instead of driving one!

  2. There was not one good reason that trams from the parking lot were ever stopped

    No health reason either

Only reason was to save money. Disney used to be magical. Now just a money maker. Been coming here since 1979 and. DVC Member. It’s so sad!
