What a week, right?

While we’ve been looking forward to Pixar’s Turning Red premiere on Disney+, eating some new treats at Disney World and Disneyland, and enjoying some new Orange Bird MagicShots at Disney World, a lot of other stuff has been going on in the world of Disney news. If you happened to miss anything, though, we’re going through the biggest stories of the week!

Festival of Fantasy Returns

The Festival of Fantasy parade is back at Magic Kingdom, and we were there to enjoy it all. The daytime parade features some state-of-the-art floats, a magical soundtrack, loads of fan-favorite characters, and a fire-breathing dragon.

Now that the full daytime parade has returned, showtimes for the cavalcades at Magic Kingdom have been scaled back, so if you’re still wanting to see those, be sure to check showtimes either on the Disney World website or on the My Disney Experience app.

Connections Cafe Gets An Opening Timeline

We’ve been looking forward to learning more about the upcoming EPCOT restaurant, Connections Cafe. We’ve seen the concept art and have been following along with its construction, but Disney has now revealed an opening timeline.

Connections Cafe is set to open THIS SPRING. So we won’t have to wait very long to get a look inside and see what it has to offer. We’ll be sure to share the fast casual restaurant’s menu with you as soon as Disney releases it!

Tron Lightcycle Run Updates

We’re finally getting some updates about Tron Lightcycle Run, a new coaster that’s coming to Magic Kingdom. First up, Disney shared a video with a new look INSIDE the coaster.

Then Disney announced that the ride would soon enter its second phase of ride testing, something Imagineers call “push/pull.” During this ride testing, sections of the vehicle are moved slowly along the track. This will be followed by launch testing at incrementally higher speeds, then launch testing with weights, then launch testing with people.

Obi-Wan Kenobi Series

The Internet lost its collective mind this week when Disney released the first full-length trailer for the highly-anticipated Obi-Wan Kenobi series, which brings back Ewan McGregor as the iconic Star Wars character.

Later, Disney also revealed the first photo of Hayden Christensen returning to the series as Darth Vader. Obi-Wan Kenobi releases on Disney+ on May 25th.

First Look at Live-Action Pinocchio

The classic tale of Pinocchio is getting the live-action treatment, which will make its debut on Disney+ later this year. The movie stars Tom Hanks as Gepetto. Disney shared a first look at Hanks as the classic Disney character.

Beauty and The Beast star Luke Evans will play the villainous Coachman in the film.
