Do you know what to do when a fire alarm goes off when you’re visiting a Disney World Resort?

We’ve seen our share of fire alarms and evacuations at Disney World, including at hotels. And, today we were headed into Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge when we were stopped at the door due to a fire alarm.
When we arrived this afternoon at the Jambo House portion of the hotel, guests and Cast Members were being evacuated out the main entrance. Although the fire alarm had stopped by the time we arrived, a Cast Member shared with us that it had gone off in the lobby area, resulting in the evacuation.

Guests arriving at the hotel were not being allowed into the lobby, including those with luggage.

Cast Members were also evacuated and headcounts were done outside to account for every member of the Jambo House team. One Cast Member told us that they couldn’t confirm details about the situation but that guests would be let back into the lobby soon when it was deemed safe to do so.
We ended up waiting about 15 minutes outside before we were able to enter.

So, if you happen to be at a Disney World hotel when an alarm sounds, be sure to evacuate in a safe and listen to Cast Members — they will instruct you on exactly what you need to do.
