The Walt Disney World 50th Anniversary has been in full swing since October!
While you only need a park ticket to experience all of the special ways that Disney is celebrating, you can end up spending a lot of money on merchandise if you’re looking to deck out for the party from head to toe. For example, Disney released an $85 50th Anniversary tiara AND a $1,000 (!!) pair of Mickey Ears. And, now there’s another pricey accessory available both in the parks and online!Â
We stopped into Legends of Hollywood on our way into Disney’s Hollywood Studios this morning and found the NEW Mickey Mouse Walt Disney World 50th Anniversary Gold Loungefly Mini Backpack!
It’s pretty hard to miss with the bright gold color and pattern, but you’ll be paying a high price to bring this one home — it costs $298.
So, what makes this backpack worth the price of gold? Well, the main body, ear appliques, handle, straps, and strap trims are all made of genuine leather. Plus, the 50th-anniversary rivet features genuine gold flakes on the inside.
Additionally, all of the plated metal hardware (including on the ears, zipper, plaque, and 50th rivet) is 24K gold.
So, you’re sure to stand out when you carry this bag around the Disney Parks!

It’s a beautiful bag when viewed up close but from a distance it looks like somebody is flipping you off with golden gloves. I guess this may be intentional as it will likely show the attitude of many of it’s purchasers.
