Would YOU Eat Any of the New Food Coming to Disney World’s Star Wars Hotel?

Blue milk, green milk, space popcorn — we’ve had a whole bunch of Star Wars-themed snacks over the past few years at Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge and elsewhere. But, more out-of-this-world food is on its way.

When Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser (also known as the Star Wars hotel) opens, there will be new items for guests to try, including blue shrimp? We got a look at some of these items already, but today we got some NEW information about some of the food you’ll be able to snag on the ship.

Let’s take a look at the different dining options that will be available. For dinner, it appears the meal will be a mix of items for the table as well as some plated items. After discussing dinner for the second night, the Star Wars hotel website specifically notes that the meal includes “group appetizers for the table, a choice of entree and a specialty plated dessert.” Based on what we understand, dinner on the first night will be served in a similar fashion.

When it comes to breakfast and lunch, things will be bit different. Disney’s own website notes that guests will get to help themselves to food in the Crown of Corellia Dining Room. According to Nerdist, breakfast and lunch will be served “as buffets, but buffets with small individualized plates, ensuring perfect presentation.”

According to IGN, who got a special preview of the food, there will be ceviche with calamari, a grilled cheese bubble waffle with tomato bisque soup, and some purple bread (ube flavored potato bread from their understanding) with blue bantha butter. There will also be a miso salmon with a seaweed crust that’s topped with bonito flakes, which made the fish look like it was moving! Bonito flakes are fish flakes made from tuna that react to steam, so they move around. How’s that for out of this world?

StarWars.com said that one dish contained “what appeared to be a baby octopus” and there is also a Mustafar-inspired bread service with nitrogen accents.

But, if all of this food is freaking you out as a picky eater, don’t worry — there is also more standard food available! There will be vegetarian substitutions and things like the chicken Tip Yip from Docking Bay 7 in Galaxy’s Edge, according to StarWars.com.

We got some new pictures of food we’ve never seen before, too! These dishes don’t seem to match the descriptions of what people ate at the preview, so we’ll have to keep an eye out for more info. Are those little bao buns we see?!

StarWars.com also said that the Sunlight Lounge will include a brand-new menu of beverages like the Hoth Frost and the Mooja Twist.

And, if you’re wondering how the food actually tastes, we’ve got some good news. SyFy said that “the food aboard is beyond delectable” and that you’ll want seconds!

We’re definitely to see what other options will be available at the Star Wars hotel when it comes to dining. We’ll be on the lookout for more info and we’ll let you know what we find.

  1. I don’t think that the menu matters to the average guest, since the Star Wars hotel is so wildly expensive that very few of us will ever stay there.

    1. Disney is catering to the upper class guest with all their food offerings. This is classic Ruby Payne in her book “A Framework for Poverty”. Food is one of the things she mentions. The lower class just wants enough to eat. The middle class wants food that tastes good. But what is important to the upper class is that food is “presented well”. That is happening all over Disney property. Think of all the specialty dishes at most of the table service restaurants. Think of all the fancy cupcakes you see pics of at the after hours events. These foods with unique looks are aimed at the upper class and not the average guest.

  2. Yes, I would try it all and probably love most of it. Disney chefs are certainly creative and talented. I think the journey should include construction of a special light saber, with duel to follow. Included in the price. The whole experience seems unworldly, as it is meant to. Word of mouth will make this experience popular. It sounds like a ton of fun and for true Star Wars lovers, a dream come true. If vips are invited first, I will be really interested in reading about their two day adventure; not spoiling the experience but revealing a few details. Kudos to Disney for trying something completely new. Can’t wait to hear from participants! I’m betting there will be many repeat customers. As an aside, I keep reading that Disney is just for rich people now. I would say middle class. My rich friends recently went to Europe, Thailand and the Arctic Circle. No mention of Big Thunder Railway.
