Will Asteroids Keep Me Up at Night? What to Know About the ROOMS at Disney’s Star Wars Hotel

Disney World’s Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser (Star Wars hotel) will be full of new food, new experiences, and more!

From the time you set foot inside of the launch pod that will transport you to space, you’ll be immersed in story. Today, we’ve got some more details about just what those first few moments of your time in the hotel will feel like and how the hotel rooms themselves feel!

We’ll start at the beginning. You won’t just step into the Star Wars hotel like any other normal hotel. Instead, you’ll board a “launch pod” that will transport you from earth to the Halcyon (the ship you’ll be “traveling” on).

You’ll get to look out at windows to space (reminds us of the Space 220 space elevator) and ultimately see the launch pod connect to the Halcyon, according to IGN.

Once on the Halcyon, you’ll be able to head to your left to go to the bridge, where you’ll get to learn more about the ship’s navigation and defense systems.

Going back to the atrium space, when you enter, you’ll find the bar on the other side of the atrium. There will also be elevators to take you to different floors in the ship, and a gift shop to the right-hand side.

When you’re done interacting with the characters and experiences the hotel offers, you can head to your hotel room. We’ve already seen some images of these in the past, but recently we got some NEW info.

When we first got a look at these hotel rooms, we thought the bunk beds featured in some of them looked pretty small. But, according to more recent stories shared by SyFy and IGN, it appears the bunks (or at least the bottom bunk) can comfortably fit a rather tall individual. StarWars.com notes that they can comfortably fit someone over 6ft tall, which is a relief for adults traveling together!

In terms of the overall feel of the room, the Halcyon is a luxury starcruiser, but luxury in space isn’t quite the same as it might be on earth. The rooms essentially feel like nice rooms you’d find on a cruise ship, perhaps not quite as luxurious as you might have expected. That seems to match the overall experience, however, of the Star Wars hotel as a sort-of cruise-like offering.

The rooms themselves aren’t incredibly large, in fact, IGN said the following about them: “The rooms are tight and compact, with little in the way of free space. They have a sleek design and are outfitted for space travel (everything, including the nightstand, is bolted down), but no one would ever accuse them of being spacious.”

However, those who’ve toured the rooms have touted the impressiveness of the windows. They’re very similar in design to what we’ve seen at Space 220, allowing guests to look out into the stretch of the galaxy beyond the ship. According to IGN, these windows can actually be “switched off” at bedtime, which is great if you prefer to sleep in a completely darkened room. They also noted that “There’s always something neat to see on the screen, whether it be a new planet or a spaceship whizzing by, and what’s shown on the screen will change as the Halcyon charts its course through space.”

We can’t wait to see these rooms in person to give you our full thoughts on just how spacious they are and what they truly feel like. Remember that the Star Wars hotel opens in March of 2022. But, reservations are filling up quickly, so be sure to book your stay while the spots you want are still available. And stay tuned for more Star Wars hotel news!
