Disney Cruise Line’s newest ship will be setting sail next summer!
We’ve been sharing all of the latest details on the dining locations, lounges, activities, and experiences you’ll be able to find onboard and if you can’t wait to see it all for yourself you can already book your reservation! And, today we’ve got a construction update where you can see what the Disney Wish looks like right now!
Disney shared a sneak peek at all of the work they’ve been doing behind the scenes in Germany at the Meyer Werft shipyard and it looks like they’ve already reached some major milestones!
Recently, the team marked the completion of the foreship with the lifting and installation of the Wheelhouse (aka “the bridge”). And, if you’re not familiar with what that is, it’s the location that the captain and officers will someday be found commanding the entire ship when they set sail!
Now, all that remains is attaching the first building part (the gigablock) to the foreship before it can be lifted and installed to complete the ship.
Bow installation has also been completed recently and is where guests will soon find a Captain Minnie medallion!
The entire process of lifting and installing the bow took just under 10 hours and is just one of roughly 100 total blocks that need to be installed before the ship sets sail.
Currently, only about 30 blocks remain to be installed over the coming weeks to prepare for the Disney Wish’s maiden voyage in June 2022.
Of course, we’ll continue to keep an eye out for more updates on the ship’s construction and details on what will be on board, so be sure to stay tuned to AllEars for the latest!
