When you’re visiting Disney World, your goal is likely to spend the most amount of time in the parks. But, you may not be thinking about how your Disney World Resort hotel choice can impact that.

Disney Resort hotels are located all over the resort area, so if you plan on visiting one park more often than others, it can be a huge time saver to stay at an area hotel.
These Are the BEST Disney World Hotels to Stay In if You’re Going to Magic Kingdom!
Disney’s Contemporary Resort
Magic Kingdom is located on Disney’s monorail, and the park isn’t the only thing connected by the highway in the sky — there are also three Disney Deluxe Resorts including Disney’s Contemporary Resort!

This hotel is themed to have more of a modern feel (and is receiving a fun Incredibles overlay), and, in addition to having convenient monorail transportation to Magic Kingdom, it also has a walking path to the park. The walking path is a big perk to staying here because you can get between the park and the hotel in about five to ten minutes without having to wait in any transportation lines.

And, as a bonus, because it is located so closely to Magic Kingdom, you’ll have a great view of the Magic Kingdom fireworks from your room depending on which side of the resort your room is on!
Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort
Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort is another Disney Deluxe hotel that is located on the Magic Kingdom monorail line. And, if island vibes and relaxation are what you’re looking for, this hotel is a great option! Plus, it’s even receiving some refurbishments to be Moana-themed.

Now, this hotel does connect to Magic Kingdom through a walking path, though it will take closer to 30 minutes to get between the two due to where it is located on the Seven Seas Lagoon. But here you’ll have both monorail transportation (though it is currently unavailable due to renovations) and boat transportation.

And unlike Disney’s Contemporary Resort, you’ll have a great view of Magic Kingdom fireworks from the resort’s beach area — so, it won’t matter which room you’re staying in if you want to watch the show!
Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa
The third (and final) hotel that is on the Magic Kingdom monorail line is Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa.

This hotel offers the most transportation to and from the park, as it has the monorail, boat transportation, and a walking path that connects the two.

And, of course, you’ll find a view of Magic Kingdom fireworks from the area near Gasparilla Island Grill (the hotel’s Quick Service restaurant). Just keep in mind that the hotel will be receiving some renovations soon as they expand the Disney Vacation Club offerings.
Disney’s Wilderness Lodge
Now, those may be the only three resorts connected to Magic Kingdom by the monorail, but there are still a few other hotels that are close to the park, like Disney’s Wilderness Lodge. This hotel is considered a Disney Deluxe Resort and offers boat transportation to and from Magic Kingdom.

And thanks to where it is located, you’ll find a much more relaxed atmosphere here. It is a bit more removed from all the hustle and bustle that you’ll experience closer to the park, but you’ve still got the convenience. Just keep in mind that you can’t see the Magic Kingdom fireworks from here.
Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort & Campgrounds
The last Disney World “resort” that is close to Magic Kingdom is Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort & Campgrounds. Now, this option is for Disney guests who are looking for a less traditional Disney World stay, as you’ll either be staying in a cabin or pulling up an RV or tent.

The great thing about this option, though, is that the prices are a bit more affordable because the cabins are considered a Moderate Resort and the campsites a Value Resort. You’ll be getting the same convenience of having boat transportation to Magic Kingdom without having to pay the hefty price of a Deluxe Resort.

And, like Disney’s Wilderness Lodge, you won’t be able to see the fireworks, but you will be able to take advantage of some unique activities like archery, horseback riding, canoeing, kayaking, and more that are only offered here.
