While we may not see real cruises for a few more months still, Disney Cruise Line is gearing up for their U.K. staycation cruises this summer, and booking opens later this week!

The cruises will be departing on 2, 3, and 4-night cruises from London Tilbury, Southhampton, Newcastle, and Liverpool starting in July. Though the ships will be leaving port, they won’t be traveling far, for safety, and we now have a better look at what health and safety measures will be like onboard.
Yesterday, Disney Cruise Line released its health and safety guidelines that will be in place onboard the Disney Magic for its staycation cruises. Among them are rules for masks, COVID-19 testing, social distancing, and a big topic: COVID vaccine requirements.

There has been a lot of discussion on the requirement of vaccines for travel, as well as the need for Vaccine Passports as summer travel approaches. Some cruise lines have already updated their website to inform guests of their vaccine requirements, including Royal Caribbean, and Disney is now the latest to do so.

According to the website, all guests ages 18 and up are required to be fully vaccinated in order to board the ship. In the U.K., the National Health Service defines “fully vaccinated” as one full week after your final dose of the vaccine.

Additional details released include specifics for onboard health screenings, including temperature checks, and the process for COVID testing prior to boarding.

Is it also important to note that masks will be required for both crew members and guests ages 11 and up, even for those who are fully vaccinated. It is also recommended that those between 3 and 10 years old wear a mask as well.

The specifics on acceptable forms of face coverings mirror those we have seen across Disney property, and to view all the details, you can check out the Disney Cruise website here.
