Today, Disney announced that Disneyland Resort will reopen to only California residents on April 30th. Like Walt Disney World, the parks will require a Park Pass Reservation and guests will have to comply with enhanced health and safety measures. But, what exactly does that mean for the face mask situation?

Disneyland will require that all guests ages 2 and up wear a face mask when not actively eating or drinking, includes those who have received the COVID-19 vaccination. And, Disney has clarified what face masks will be approved in the parks.

All face masks must have at least 2 layers of breathable material, fully cover the nose and mouth, and secure under the chin. They must also fit “snugly” against the side of your face and have ties or ear loops that keep the mask on without having to use your hands.

Disneyland will NOT permit neck gaiters, open-chin triangle bandanas, and face coverings containing valves, mesh material, or holes of any kind. Guests who come to the park with unapproved face coverings will be asked to leave.

For those who prefer to wear transparent face masks so others can see their mouth, Disney will allow them to be worn under a few conditions. In addition to the above requirements, the face mask must be one that has fabric attaching to the solid plastic panel with no openings on all sides.
