PHOTOS & VIDEO: New Spotlights at Disney’s Hollywood Studios Light Up the Sky!

Disney World is undergoing some pretty huge updates to get the parks ready for its 50th anniversary celebration (which will last until 2023!).

Cinderella Castle over at the Magic Kingdom continues to get new updates, and EPCOT, including Spaceship Earth, is in the middle of a massive transformation.

We knew that a park icon in each park would be getting an updated look, but that didn’t include the Chinese Theater at the time. But, Disney Imagineer Zach Riddley recently showed off some photos of a brand new lighting design for the Chinese Theatre (the theatre that hosts Mickey & Minnie’s Runaway Railway). Now we’ve seen this new lighting for ourselves!

This lighting design brings back the searching spotlights over the theatre, which really makes it look like there’s a huge new premiere going on there!

There’s also some brand new gold lighting on the roof to add just a little bit more “wow” to the building.

Imagineers are just getting started at Hollywood Studios — the Tower of Terror is going to get some new projections later this year. We can’t wait to see what everything looks like once all the updates are done.

We love this look!

As always, we’ll keep you updated on EVERYTHING happening at Disney World, so check back often.
