Things may be different for Christmas this year in Disney World with the cancellation of Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party and EPCOT’s Candlelight Processional, but we’re still enjoying eating ALL the snacks at the Taste of EPCOT Festival of the Holidays, watching the holiday character cavalcades, and checking out all of the festive merchandise throughout the parks.

We’ve also got the Disney Parks Magical Christmas Day Celebration coming soon, although it will be “reimagined” this year. We’re not exactly sure how the celebration will be different this year, but today we DID see some filming going on in Disney World that may give us some ideas of what we may see see!
Earlier this month, we found that a stage had been constructed in front of Cinderella Castle in Magic Kingdom. While Disney didn’t confirm what the stage was for, it was set up right around the time that filming for the holiday special typically begins.
Today, as we walked around Cinderella Castle we noticed that there was some filming going on and parts of the Castle were blocked off with ropes.

We also saw that the right side of the Castle, near the path you would take to the “Meet Merida at Fairytale Garden” experience and to Cosmic Ray’s Starlight Cafe, was blocked off.

We took a look at the Cast Members’ outfits and noticed that some were wearing blue lanyards with a Christmas Special decal on them. So, it looks like the filming going on in Magic Kingdom today may in fact be for the Disney Parks Magical Christmas Day Celebration!

We saw some production elements being installed around Cinderella Castle.

As the day wore on, we noticed the film crew was out and about! The crew was pushing carts full of film tech down Main Street.

The Cast Members were toting the carts up towards Frontierland.

We also noticed a large camera crane trailing behind the massive amount of hardware.

Although things aren’t quite the same this year, we can’t wait to see what fun performances or other things the Disney Parks Magical Christmas Day Celebration will feature. We’ll definitely be watching that special on Christmas Day AND then heading over to Disney+ to watch Soul! If we spot any more holiday news, we’ll be sure to share it with you. Stay tuned for all the latest.
UPDATE: The day after we spotted filming, Disney posted their sneak preview of the Disney Christmas Celebration that was filmed in front of Cinderella Castle yesterday!
Tune in December 25th to the @ABCNetwork #DisneyChristmasCelebration to see @TrevorJackson5 perform from @WaltDisneyWorld Resort. Plus, check back tomorrow as we reveal more special guests. pic.twitter.com/5EaOkWKEQw

Don’t put Julianne Hough as a host again, she was not too good, and she put on a phony smile, but not much sincere enthusiam at all. The other host was good, sincere but she made it boring.
The rest of the show was very nice, good singer and a nice Christmas Special, Next time put Dereck Hough,he is very good and great for Disney,a natural.
Thank you
