Sometimes we just need a little mid-day break to recharge our batteries at Walt Disney World — especially if we’ve been hitting those attractions hard since rope drop!
This is an especially important part of the day if you’re traveling to Disney World during the summer. We never want to underestimate how draining the Florida heat can be!
So where are the best places to go when you need an afternoon break in the Parks? Let’s take a look!
Magic Kingdom — Cosmic Ray’s Starlight Cafe
Though we prefer the upstairs dining space at Columbia Harbour House, that Quick Service spot isn’t open currently. So our next go-to is Cosmic Ray’s Starlight Cafe! This Quick Service restaurant offers some straightforward theme park grub and blissful air conditioning. But it’s got a little something extra…
…Sonny Eclipse! This out-of-this-world crooner is great fun, and he adds a little something extra to the chilling-out-because-Florida-is-surface-of-the-sun-hot relaxation. 😉 Don’t forget to place your Mobile Order before you arrive at the restaurant so you can avoid extensive waits for your grub. (One of the bays here is dedicated to Mobile Order pick-up, making it relatively efficient, too!)

EPCOT — Odyssey Events Pavilion
Okay, this one might seem like an obscure choice, but we have our reasons! You’ll find the Odyssey Events Pavilion located between Future World and the World Showcase (think: the Mexico entrance). And while it might not normally be on your radar, it’s a great spot to take an afternoon break! You’ll find snacks and drinks available for purchase inside, and there’s plenty of seating available. Plus, you can also see The EPCOT Experience, a visual representation of the ongoing EPCOT transformation that uses a massive 3D model, stylized posters, and a 360-degree video to showcase the upcoming changes!
Two other services here make the Odyssey building a must-know and a great place to cool off. This is where you’ll find the Park’s First Aid station and Baby Care Center.

Disney’s Hollywood Studios — BaseLine Tap House
Disney’s Hollywood Studios is home to the (relatively) hidden gem, BaseLine Tap House! This bar and lounge is packed with awesome theming and details. Plus, they have a ton of beer, cider, and wine options on the menu in addition to a few delicious appetizer options, like the giant Bavarian Pretzel! There’s a lovely tree-shaded terrace outside where you can sit to enjoy your mid-day pick-me-up if the weather is nice.
With all of the hustle and bustle around Galaxy’s Edge and Toy Story Land, BaseLine Tap House provides a welcome contrast where guests can relax and unwind.

Animal Kingdom — Nomad Lounge
Nomad Lounge is one of our favorite spots in Animal Kingdom — and it just so happens to be a great place to take an afternoon break! Here, you’ll find some really unique and inventive cocktails crafted with African, Asian, and South American flavors. Plus, there’s a great selection of beers, wines, and non-alcoholic beverages. And there are small bites available as well if you’re in need of something to curb your hunger!
As with just about everything in Animal Kingdom, the theming here is top-notch, and there’s both indoor and outdoor seating available! Nomad Lounge is a great place to rest up and enjoy the incredible atmosphere of the park.

Sometimes it can be tough to force ourselves to slow down when we’re in Disney World. There’s just so much to see and do! But sometimes, an afternoon break is a necessity. So, if you find yourself in need of a quick recharge, head to one of these spots to fuel your batteries!
