Shanghai Disneyland Has Expanded Its Standby Pass to Feature 8 Attractions Throughout the Park!

As Shanghai Disneyland was the first of the global Disney Parks to reopen, we’ve been wondering if the other Disney Parks will be implementing some of the same procedures.

Although they’ve opened up the ability to make advance reservations already, the park is also operating with a new Standby Pass that resembles a Virtual Queue mixed with Disney’s FastPass and MaxPass.

The way the Standby Pass has worked at Shanghai Disneyland has been as an online reservation system. Standby Passes for attractions are released every two hours on the Shanghai Disneyland app, and guests can pick up a Standby Pass for an applicable attraction, giving them a 60-minute window of time to visit the attraction, not unlike a virtual line at Universal Studios.

While the Standby Pass only saw The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh available during the trial period, Shanghai Disneyland is now using the pass for 8 different rides in the parks!

Although we may not know if Disney World or Disneyland will be using this same Standby Pass when the parks reopen, Shanghai Disneyland has been the place to test new procedures for entertainment, health and safety guidelines, and more.

We will just have to wait for more information on the new theme park reservation system coming soon to the parks (especially since FastPass has now disappeared from the My Disney Experience app). We will keep you updated with more information on parks’ re-opening protocols here!
