Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge opens in Hollywood Studios at 6:00 am tomorrow!  We’ve got some opening day tips including when transportation starts, when resort restaurants open, and more!

We also don’t know when the Hollywood Studios parking lots will open. If and when this information is released we will update this post.

Extra, Extra Magic Hours

From August 29 to 31 Hollywood Studios will open at 6:00 am for ALL guests (Disney Resort and Non-Disney Resort guests). 

Every morning from September 1 to November 2, the park will have Extra, Extra Magic Hours from 6:00 to 9:00 am Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge, Toy Story Land attractions, and select other attractions will be open during this time. Extra, Extra Magic Hours are available for Disney Resort guests only. Note that Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge and its experiences will be subject to capacity restrictions.

  • 4:30 am – Midnight August 30 – September 28

What Will Happen if There are Virtual Boarding Passes or Queues to Get in Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge?

A virtual queue or boarding pass system has not been announced for Disney World yet. If there are virtual boarding passes or queues to get in the land it is likely they will be similar to the virtual boarding passes used in Disneyland.

Disneyland’s virtual boarding pass system is in the Disneyland app. It is likely if Disney World has a virtual boarding pass system it will be in the My Disney Experience app. We recommend downloading the app before you enter the park. We also recommend you connect your entire group together through the Friends and Family function in the app. It is likely if virtual boarding passes are initiated you will have to register for your place in the virtual line with your entire group.

When your group is called you will likely be notified through the app and be given a certain timed window to return to Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge. Remember — the Grand Avenue entrance will serve as the only entrance to the land. The Toy Story Land entrance will function as an exit only gate for now.

You and your entire group will likely have to enter together — a person in your group cannot choose to enter the land 15 minutes later than you — they will not be admitted if not in the group.
