Review: We Tried the Alcoholic Drinks and Spiked Milk in Disney World’s Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge

Before our visit to Disney World’s Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge we learned alcohol would be served at more locations in Disney World than in Disneyland. We tried many of the drinks in Oga’s Cantina in Disneyland, so on our first visit to Disney World’s Batuu we decided to try some of the new alcoholic drinks in the land.

Docking Bay 7, the Milk Stand, and Ronto Roasters each serve two alcoholic drinks with a variety of beer and mixed drinks.

We tried the “straight” Blue and Green Milk in Disneyland and we were not exactly enamored of their taste.

“Spiked” Blue and Green Milk

Many people have agreed with our assessment of these drinks tasting a bit strange, and unexpected. They’re non-dairy, but your mind and taste buds are expecting dairy — MILK —  so the mismatch starts there, and the drink experience didn’t get much better for us. But in Disney World we had the option to try the drinks with a splash of alcohol, which we thought might redeem the beverages for us.

The Blue Milk Cooler combines Blue Milk and Bacardi Rum. This was really interesting. The rum makes the drink better in our opinion, and it was the favorite of our group (when compared to the Green Milk, at least).

The Green Milk Cooler mixes Green Milk and Corazon Blanco Tequila. We did not enjoy this version of Green Milk as much, but truly we prefer straight Blue over Green to begin with. It just wasn’t our favorite flavor profile — even though we hoped it would be like a margarita. (It wasn’t.)

You’ll note that these “spiked” milk drinks are served in square-shaped glasses — that’s to denote the fact that they contain alcohol. Regular Blue and Green Milk are served in round glasses. No one wants to serve their youngsters the wrong drink! Also, the alcoholic drinks can not be put into the specially themed milk sippers (which were not yet available for purchase), for the same reason — to avoid confusion.

STAR WARS GALAXY’S EDGE DOCKING BAY 7 ALCOHOLIC BEVERAGES

Docking Bay 7 is offering a mixed drink and a beer in Disney World. We didn’t get a chance to try the beer — we’ll get it next time.

But we did try the Takodana Quencher and quite enjoyed it! This fruit-forward cocktail blends Bacardi Dragon Berry Rum, Blue Curacao, Simple Orange with Pineapple, and Kiwi. Dare we say we thought we were in the Caribbean islands with Captain Jack Sparrow when we drank this, and not on a planet far, far, away!? It might not exactly fit the Star Wars story, but it is a refreshing, fun, fruity drink. And it’s pretty!

We also tried Ronto Roasters’ Coruscant Cooler. This is made with Makers Mark Bourbon and mixes it with Luxardo Maraschino Cherry Liqueur, Carapano Antica Sweet Vermouth, Cranberry, and Lime juice. This is a creative —  in a good way — cocktail. The flavors all work together and complement each other really well. It’s not a particularly strong drink, but you could still taste the bourbon.

We saved the Trandoshan Ale for a future visit!
