2010 Food And Wine Festival Merchandise – Part 1

The Food and Wine Festival is not just about food and wine. Yes, I know it truly is a party for the senses! As you walk around the World Showcase lagoon you’re treated to the most tempting smells of the food, you get to see the colorful International Marketplaces, you can tastes foods from all over the world, drink wonderful wines and beers and listen to the Eat to the Beat performers.

However, the Food and Wine Festival isn’t just about eating, drinking and listening to concerts. It’s also about shopping! Each year there are some beautiful items put on sale. And since they are only sold for a limited time, they are true collector items. This year most of the items for sale have this years festival art design created by Tim Rogerson. I really like the artwork and especially like the hidden Mickey that’s there.

The Food and Wine Merchandise is sold in three locations: the Festival Welcome Center (Wonders of Life Pavilion in Future World) and two Festival Shops (merchandise kiosks) in World Showcase. In this blog I will cover the merchandise that’s for sale in the two Festival Shops. Part 2 of this blog with have pictures of the Festival Welcome Center and the items that are on sale there.

  2. Do you know if any of this merchandise is available after the Food & Wine Fest? My husband and I are arriving November 15 (the day after it ends) for our honeymoon and we would love the cookbook!

DizneyMike replies: Sarah, I’ve seen merchandise from Flower and Garden and Food and Wine end up in the World of Disney store after those events. But it’s only very limited merchandise. If you want, I’d be glad to purchase the cookbook for you. Send me an email and we can “talk” about it: [email protected]

  3. I love shopping at Disney World! But…the merchandise at the Food and Wine Festival is consistently poor quality. First, it was the spoon rest from F&W 2007 that lost its screened graphic during the first wash. Then the F&W 2008 glass whose graphic faded to nothing within the first few washes. Then the F&W 2009 beer glass graphic that streaked and faded almost immediately. And this year’s F&W 2010 glass didn’t make it past its first use. The graphic came off on my hands the first time I used it. It’s sad but true. Whoever does the screen printing for Disney’s Food and Wine Festival glass and ceramic items is clearly doing a very poor job and is only concerned about making the sale and not holding up to subsequent use. Keep in mind, these items were not sold for display only. They were clearly intended for use. So, given the poor track record, four years running, of my ceramic and glass Food and Wine souvenirs, I chose a pink t-shirt this year in addition to the insta-fade beer glass. I could tell that the t-shirt was thin and lightweight on the hangar, but only after washing and wearing it did I discover that it is also completely see-through! Bummer.

  4. I was very happy with the festival items this year. I walked away with the cake tshirt, all of the festival pins, and a painting of a cat enjoying a margarita for my daughter. We got to meet the artist, and wished we could have gotten the whole collection of cat paintings! My DH was disappointed in the tshirt offerings for men, but overall, I felt it was a nice selection. I didn’t notice the Hidden Mickey – I really need to learn to look more closely at everything when in Disney!
