Tips for Disney Parks & Cruise Lines

If you need to drive to the park to drop someone off, Disney provides very convenient guest drop-off areas at each of the four parks. It's as easy as telling the toll booth cast member at the main parking entrance that you're dropping someone off. They'll give you instructions on how to get to that park's area. At the Magic Kingdom, you need to be in the lanes on the right and they'll direct you down the road going to the Transportation and Ticket Center. At the other three parks, they'll send you into the regular parking area where you'll tell the second cast member you're dropping someone off, and they'll direct you to the spot at the front of the lot near the entrance. - Laurie Jennings
Spent a wonderfully fun day at Blizzard Beach this trip. We read in your FAQ that there are 4 Polar Patios, so we reserved one for the day. What a great thing! Having a semi-private space with an attendant made the day even better. I'm writing to let you know there are actually 15 Polar Patios! When we checked in at Snowless Joe's, I was surprised when the CM told us we were in #5, so I checked the map and saw how many there are. - Jeff Surette

When booking, my travel agent said that the package included onwards travel to Walt Disney World. I said yes, as I understood this to mean Disney's Magical Express. A few weeks before our travel date, I received the final travel vouchers, which included a voucher for travel with a separate coach company from Orlando International to our Disney resort. Upon checking, we had paid extra for this service. As frequent visitors to Walt Disney World, we are aware of and have used Disney's Magical Express service, which is included for free with all on-property stays! Thankfully, I was able to cancel this and made use of the Magical Express. You do need to book this yourself. Being from the UK, we do not get the extra baggage tags, so it is important that we take our luggage with us to the Magical Express check-in. Hopefully this can reiterate to overseas travelers the services on offer from Disney, which aid to a smoother start to the magic! - Jason Herrick

Remember, if you forget where you parked your car, tell a parking attendant about what time you parked. They can then usually tell you about where you parked within a row or so. - Fred

For the ultimate in Disney character autograph books try this:

  • Take pictures of yourselves with characters (character dining is great for this).
  • After you have enough photos (we collected almost 50) get them printed into a 4x6 flip book at Snapfish, Shutterfly, or something similar.
  • Return to Walt Disney World to collect autographs. Be sure to have a Sharpie. It's a good idea to keep the book in a zipper-top bag for wet rides.

You can put your whole party (group shots and individual photos) into a single book, or make up separate books for each (might work better for kids). Be aware this took four vacations and it's almost complete. It's a long process, but the result is a one-of-a-kind personal treasure. - Greg Pidluski

Make sure your kids are tall enough to ride the rides you're getting FastPasses for. I've seen a lot of people get really upset about this. They'll have FastPasses to Big Thunder Mountain Railroad, only to get to the FastPass gate and be told their kids are too short to ride. FastPasses make wait times shorter, they do not make kids taller! And remember, close enough is NOT good enough when it comes to height restrictions at Disney. - Cast Member Jane

We recently visited Fort Wilderness for the Campfire Sing-a-long. We headed over early, and were surprised to find that they were playing games and Chip and Dale were there. My daughter was able to play with Chip for more than five minutes all by herself. She was in love! - Robin Tater
