Tips about Disney and Epcot
If you want to play miniature golf at Winter Summerland, be advised that bus transportation is not running to Blizzard Beach due to its refurbishment (until October 25 in 2008). - Janine
EDITOR'S NOTE: The Coronado Springs-Epcot bus will stop at Blizzard Beach upon request even when the water park is down for refurbishing.

Here's a tip for those of you who have to use Disney transportation to get to a very early morning breakfast reservation in the parks or resorts. Take the bus from your resort heading to the theme park closest to where you are going. Take a Magic Kingdom bus for Chef Mickey's or Trail's End, Animal Kingdom for Boma's breakfast, etc. When you get on, be sure to tell the driver where your final destination is. Often times if the bus is not crowded and it is still prior to park opening times, they will take you directly to your destination after dropping off at the park they were headed to. This is not always the case but it happens more often than not. - Jack Marshall
EDITOR'S NOTE: Boats from the Magic Kingdom to Fort Wilderness begin 1/2 hour before park opening. If you have early dining reservations at Trails End, you would need to walk to the Contemporary to catch the boat from there to Ft. Wilderness. These boats begin service at 6:45am daily.

Epcot - We are currently planning a trip to Disney. There are two pieces of information I discovered while making reservations that I would like to share, one about the spa and one about diving in The Seas in Epcot. Being a plus-sized woman, I asked about robe sizes available at the spa, and was delighted to learn that they have robes up to size 5X. In the past, I have brought my own robe so as not to be surprised by a robe that wasn't comfortable. Also, when making reservations to dive in the Living Seas, I was informed that wet suits were available to size 5X. Another wonderful surprise! Good information for visitors who may have ruled out this experience for fear of not fitting into a wet suit! - EL

Going through the metal detectors at the park entrances, you have to remove celebratory buttons and put them in the little bins with other metal objects. This can be a pain, especially if you're park-hopping! Consider wearing buttons on a lanyard or bag strap to make it easier to take them on and off. - Gilly R.

Epcot - If you've been to Le Cellier you already know there's more to the Canada pavilion than the beautiful landscaping. But I walked through the garden in Canada for years without ever noticing the wooden walkway that takes you through the waterfalls behind this wonderful setting. Don't miss it! - Emily Pickle

Epcot - For anyone with ties to General Motors, make sure to take advantage of the GM suite at Test Track. There is a great lounge with a huge window overlooking the park and you can get free drinks while you relax. You can also bypass the line and get right on the ride (better than Fastpass). You just need to present the appropriate GM identification card. - Shan Haase

ALL PARKS - As you are waiting in line, a great way to spend the time is to play what we call the Disney Alphabet Game. Start with the letter "A" and the first person has to name a Disney character that starts with the letter "A," like Ariel. The next person has to name a character whose name starts with the letter "B," such as Br'er Rabbit, and so on. Once you reach "Z" start over back at "A" but you can't use the same character twice. If you need a hint for "X", there is a Buzz Lightyear character named XR. It's fun for kids and adults. We played while waiting for Fantasmic! and had everyone around us shouting out suggestions within a few minutes. - Chris in Iowa

ALL PARKS - I am from Colorado where we are on Mountain Time. In addition to feeling like it is two hours earlier when we are in Florida, we let our kids stay up later on vacation. This works out really well for Extra Magic Evening Hours. We were recently at the Magic Kingdom where the Extra Magic Evening Hours were from 9 p.m. to midnight. For us, it felt like 7 to 10 p.m. During that time, we went on all the kiddie rides with our 3- and 4-year olds with absolutely no lines! We were able to save the hot afternoons for the pool rather than waiting in lines. - Laura Moos

Magic Kingdom and Epcot - My family and I just got back from Disney on June 8. We had a great time, but something I found very useful was that when we got to the park (around 11 a.m. -- we let the kids sleep in since we were at the park late the night before) the line for the monorail and ferryboat to Magic Kingdom was backed up to the ticket booths! So instead of wasting 30-45 minutes waiting to get on the monorail, we hopped over to Epcot since there was no line at all. We had 1:00 p.m. reservations at Crystal Palace at Magic Kingdom, but we had enough time to see Turtle Talk with Crush (kids loved it!) and take a family shot in front of Spaceship Earth. This is definitely worth doing instead of standing on line. - Pamela Matzner

After the last 2 Hoop Dee Doo shows each evening, Disney offers bus transportation to the resorts. Check with Guest Relations just outside of Pioneer Hall to get directions.
