A MAJOR Ride Change Hits Hollywood Studios Next Month

There are SO many changes coming to Disney World right now. Each of the theme parks has a little something to look forward to, but Hollywood Studios has even more than the others.

Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run

The theme park for the stars is adding a new Monsters Inc. inspired land, the Muppets are taking over Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster, and even Galaxy’s Edge is getting some updates! In just one month, a popular Star Wars attraction is getting something NEW.

If you’ve ever dreamed of living in the world of Star Wars, Galaxy’s Edge in Hollywood Studios is the place to be! You can see the characters you love, build your own droids, eat space food, and even hop on the Millennium Falcon.

Millennium Falcon: Smuggler’s Run

Millennium Falcon: Smuggler’s Run is a super popular attraction, but fans have been ready for more missions and more adventures. Luckily for us, we’re only one month away from some new ride additionsAfter over a year of waiting, new scenes are coming to Smuggler’s Run.

The new scenes are inspired by the upcoming film, The Mandalorian and Grogu, both of which debut on May 22nd, 2026.  Lucasfilm creative executive Dave Filoni teased that guests will be able to fly alongside Mando and Grogu on thrilling missions throughout the galaxy! The ride scenes will connect with the film and take you to new locations like Tatooine, Cloud City on Bespin, and you’ll even revisit the wreckage of the 2nd Death Star at Endor.

Disney previously shared that they’re partnering with Epic Games to develop the gameplay that will be added to the attraction, which will coordinate with the new locations. It isn’t just the new ride scenes that are exciting, though! For the first time, guests will get to CHOOSE where they’re going. Disney is even upgrading the (semi-unpopular) engineer position on the ride!

Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run attractions at Disneyland Resort and Walt Disney World Resort are being updated with a new Mando and Grogu mission, launching Memorial Day Weekend 2026.

Now, engineers on the ride will get to communicate with Grogu during their mission and pick where your crew is headed. Previously, this spot on the ride was considered the “worst” because it had the smallest role in the gameplay, and it was very repetitive. This new update will ensure that all 6 seats on the ride feel more involved. We are seriously excited to check out these changes once they begin on May 22nd, 2026. As always, be sure to keep following AllEars for more Disney updates, reminders, and more.
