CHANGES Could Hit Disney's Art of Animation Resort Soon

If you’ve been to Disney World recently, or just been keeping up with our posts, you likely know that construction is practically EVERYWHERE around the resort.

While we know some of these projects are opening soon, like Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger Spin, others don’t have an opening date in sight because they’re still under heavy construction, such as Villains Land in Magic Kingdom and Pueblo Esperanza in Disney’s Animal Kingdom. Now, it seems that more construction could be coming to one of the most popular value resorts on property, but to what extent? That has yet to be seen.

Disney’s Art of Animation Resort is located right near a Skyliner Station (and is across the way from Disney’s Pop Century Resort), making it a popular choice for those staying at Disney World on a budget. While we know the Skyliner currently has a planned closure in early 2027, from January 24th through January 30th, at this time, no announcements have been made about other construction happening at the resort.

However, Disney has just filed SIX new permits taking place all around the resort! While none of them raise major flags for large amounts of construction coming soon, it’s entirely possible that we could see construction projects around the hotel while these permits are in place. It’s also possible that these permits could signify the beginning of a larger project coming soon.

All of these permits are for Mechanical Work around the resort, all performed by the same company, Ferran Services & Contracting, Inc. However, they’re all for different spots around the hotel. The addresses seeing this mechanical work construction are:

1900 Animation Wy
1950 Animation Wy
1650 Animation Wy
1750 Animation Wy
1800 Animation Wy

We’ll continue to keep a close eye on all the construction happening around the entirety of Disney World, as well as any new permits filed!
