“It Feels Like Going Home” — 85 Fans Reveal Their Favorite Disney World Hotel…and the Winner Might Surprise You!

If there’s one thing Disney fans love to debate, it’s where to stay when visiting Disney World.

Disney’s Beach Club Resort

Some people are die-hard “Monorail loop or bust” folks, while others will swear up and down that the quiet charm of the moderate resorts is the way to go. And don’t even get us started on those who argue the value resorts are the most fun. So naturally, we wanted to hear it straight from you. And wow, did you all deliver. We had 85 top comments roll in, each one full of passion, memories, and reasons why certain resorts feel extra magical. Let’s break down the results and hear directly from some of you about why these hotels mean so much.

We reached out to our followers on Facebook and Instagram to ask: “What’s your FAVORITE Disney World hotel?” We had quite a few people leave their opinions in the comments!

What do you think?

Now, let’s go over some of your top responses!

And the Winner Is… Beach Club!

Topping the list with 9 votes was none other than Disney’s Beach Club Resort.

First up, Andrea summed up the love perfectly when she said,

“Beach club – can’t beat the Epcot area and the light bright sunny days at the beach club. So many transportation options.”

Disney’s Beach Club Resort

That’s the magic of Beach Club—it has a laid-back, breezy vibe while still being ridiculously convenient. Steps away from EPCOT, a walk or boat ride to Hollywood Studios, and home to arguably the best pool on Disney property, Stormalong Bay. It’s not shocking that this spot earned the top spot, but it still feels a little surprising considering how many longtime favorites were in the mix.

A Four-Way Tie for Second

Right behind Beach Club, we had four resorts tied for second place: Port Orleans French Quarter, Port Orleans Riverside, BoardWalk Inn, and the Polynesian Village Resort—each pulling in 8 votes.

Brian had high praise for Riverside, saying,

“Port Orleans Riverside. So quiet and beautiful, great food, top notch amenities and near where I can get Mickey beignets.”

Hard to argue with that combo—peaceful vibes, gorgeous grounds, and… Mickey-shaped fried dough? Yes, please.

Over at the BoardWalk, Kristi shared,

“Our all time favorite is Boardwalk. I know people don’t like the pool. I mean it’s not the best pool but my son still has a blast in it. But we love everything else about it. We live in Jersey so we spent all our lives going to the boardwalk.”

For them, it’s not just about the amenities, it’s about nostalgia and atmosphere—something Disney resorts do better than almost anywhere else.

Then, of course, there’s the Polynesian. Cathelene said it best:

“The Polynesian. The food is great, rooms are great, transportation is great and close to our favorite park; Magic Kingdom.”

Polynesian Village Resort

Between ‘Ohana noodles, Dole Whip at Pineapple Lanai, and watching fireworks from the beach, the Poly is pure Disney comfort.

Wilderness Lodge: A Cozy Third Place

Coming in next with 7 votes was Wilderness Lodge, and the words fans used to describe it were cozy, peaceful, and—dare we say—homey.

Pat shared,

“I really love the Wilderness Lodge! I’m from the Pacific Northwest and I feel right at home staying there. I love Gaiser Point Bar and Grill with its outdoor dining and the Seven Seas Lagoon right there for your viewing pleasure. As well as being able to take the boat to and from Magic Kingdom is fantastic. I just Love it there.”

And Lisa echoed that same sentiment:

“Wilderness lodge is my favourite, it feels like going home. Although it’s massive it’s so cosy and peaceful. I can’t wait to go back.”

For many of you, Wilderness Lodge isn’t just a hotel—it’s a feeling.

Animal Kingdom Lodge: Fourth Place

Animal Kingdom Lodge landed in fourth place with 6 votes, and it’s not hard to see why. Where else can you sip your morning coffee while giraffes wander by your balcony?

Danielle shared,

“My bestie LOVED her stay at Animal Kingdom Lodge! (I can only say I’ve had Sanaa and it was definitely worth the hype!)”

You can see the animals right out the windows!

The immersive theming, incredible dining, and one-of-a-kind savanna views make this resort an experience in itself, not just a place to crash after the parks.

Caribbean Beach: Fifth Place

Rounding out the top five with 6 votes is Caribbean Beach Resort.

Starla gave us a full breakdown of why she fell in love with it:

“We stayed at Caribbean Beach ?? we loved it. With the exception of one night it was quiet. We loved the use of the Skyliner! We loved the pool, we only used it the last day because we were in the park literally ALL day. Love closing down the park. ? We ate at the lounge and the quick service. The smell of the lobby…so my goodness! I’m now looking at getting those fragrances that say they smell like the resort ? Yes, it is a large resort, but the beauty of the layout, all the critters we saw walking to the parks. Bunnies, turtles, ducks, of course lots and lots of lizards, all those made the walk fun. I intended on walking over to the Rivera for coffee and breakfast, but when it came down to it, I just wanted to get in the park. Initially I had requested the Aruba building, but they put us in Barbados and we love it. Like I said earlier, we loved the walks.”

Caribbean Beach Resort

It’s clear that while Caribbean Beach gets mixed reviews for its size, those who click with it really, really love it. The Skyliner alone is a major perk, not to mention the tropical atmosphere.

Well, those were just some of your thoughts on your favorite hotels at Disney World and why, and now we want to hear even more from you! In the meantime, stay tuned to AllEars for all the latest Disney news!
