I Didn’t Think I Could Hate This Disney World Ride Any More…Until This Happened

If there’s one thing we know about Disney fans, it’s that everyone has a favorite ride — and also, sometimes, a least favorite one.

Peter Pan’s Flight

From motion sickness to painful necks, from boredom to nightmares, we heard it all. But we also think there’s value in sharing the tough parts of Disney World, because it can help fellow parkgoers manage their expectations and maybe even pick up a few tricks along the way. Which is why we reached out to you to get your thoughts on the matter. You all had plenty of answers, and let’s just say…you did not hold back. Let’s dive into the top responses!

We reached out to our followers on Facebook and Instagram to ask: “What things could Disney not even pay you to do in the parks?” We had quite a few people leave their opinions in the comments!

What do you think?

Now, let’s go over some of your top responses!

“Peter Pan’s Flight”

First up, we’ve got George, who shared,

“Peter Pan’s Flight. Too short of a ride with a wait time that is way too long. I’ll give that it has an amazing ride vehicle, but most of the time you have to look down to see the scenes. My neck hurts afterwards from the strain of the head twisted downwards. I will say, ride it once if you haven’t. You may like getting your neck twisted.”

Peter Pan’s Flight is one of those iconic rides that many guests have to do at least once. It’s beautiful, it’s classic, and yes — those flying pirate ships are pretty incredible. But George makes a solid point: this is a very short ride, and it often racks up wait times of 60+ minutes.

Tip: If you want to give it a go, your best bet is rope-dropping the ride first thing in the morning or hopping in line right before park close. That way, you can experience the nostalgia without sacrificing an hour in the middle of the day.

“Mad Tea Party”

Next, Amelia shared,

“Mad Tea Party: I can’t do spinning without getting sick. Mission space: same reason. I did MS green one time when my kiddo was too little to go on on her own and had to immediately leave. I was sick for hours. But as far as rides go that I just don’t like (not ones that make me sick): Winnie the Pooh and Figment.”

Motion sickness is a real struggle at Disney World. Mad Tea Party and Mission: SPACE top the list of culprits, and even the “milder” versions can leave guests feeling queasy.

Mad Tea Party

Tip: If you know you’re prone to motion sickness, skip the heavy spinners (Mad Tea Party, Astro Orbiter) and intense simulators (Mission: SPACE, Star Tours). Stick to attractions like Haunted Mansion, Pirates of the Caribbean, or Frozen Ever After, which are gentler on the stomach.

“Flight of Passage and it’s Small World.”

Next, Tina shared,

“For me it’s Flight of Passage ? for my husband it’s Small World or as he calls it ‘Disneys version of physiological torture.’”

This one shocked us! Flight of Passage is often considered one of the best rides in Disney World, but not everyone’s body agrees with the simulator-style experience. On the other side, “it’s a small world” has long been accused of being repetitive — those cheerful dolls and catchy music can definitely be overwhelming.

Flight of Passage seats!

Tip: If you’re unsure whether you’ll handle Flight of Passage well, try riding Soarin’ in EPCOT first. If Soarin’ makes you queasy, Flight of Passage probably will too. And as for Small World — if it’s not your jam, that’s okay! Take advantage of the (usually) lower wait times elsewhere while the rest of your party sings along.

“Astro Orbiter”

Next, Heather said,

“Astro orbiter! Makes me so dizzy!”

This ride is one of the most visually impressive in Tomorrowland, sitting high above the ground with sweeping views of Magic Kingdom. But here’s the thing: not only do you spin, you’re doing it at a sharp angle in tight little rockets. Combine that with the elevator ride to even get to the attraction, and it’s not for everyone.

Astro Orbiter

Tip: If you want the views without the dizziness, hop on the PeopleMover instead. You’ll still get that elevated Magic Kingdom perspective, minus the spins.

“Goofy’s Barnstormer”

Next, Marshall shared a common complaint:

“Goofy’s Barnstormer ?. 30min wait, for an 18s ride?.”

Barnstormer is designed as a kid-friendly coaster, so yes — it’s very short. For little ones, it can be a perfect introduction to roller coasters, but for adults waiting in line, it might not feel worth the time.

Goofy’s Barnstormer

Tip: Only do Barnstormer if your kid is experiencing their first coaster thrill. Otherwise, save your time for Seven Dwarfs Mine Train or Big Thunder Mountain, which give you much more ride for your wait.

“Haunted Mansion”

Next, Paula shared,

“Haunted Mansion. It gives me nightmares.”

This is a Disney classic, but we totally get it — for some guests, the spooky factor is a little too real. Between the stretching room, the ghostly projections, and the eerie soundtrack, it can definitely stick with you.

Haunted Mansion

Tip: If you or your little ones get spooked easily, maybe stick to lighter dark rides like Under the Sea — Journey of the Little Mermaid. Or maybe ride Haunted Mansion in the daytime to soften the mood.

“Space Mountain”

Next, Danielle said,

“Space Mountain gives me whiplash.”

The complaints about Space Mountain’s rough ride are nothing new. Those sharp turns in the dark can definitely be jarring, and it’s not the smoothest coaster in the park.

Space Mountain

Tip: If you want to experience a futuristic coaster, but protect your neck and back, you’ll either want skip it altogether or head to TRON Lightcycle / Run for a much smoother (and more modern) coaster experience.

“Bus ride in the middle of the day…”

Finally, Samantha had a hilarious but very real response:

“bus ride in the middle of the day that you fall asleep on and your husband forgets you on.”

Okay, fair — transportation at Disney World can sometimes feel like its own attraction, but this is definitely not the kind of memory anyone’s aiming for!

Disney Bus

Tip: Always set a group meet-up plan in case you get separated. And if you’re feeling wiped out midday, consider heading back to your resort for a nap rather than trying to snooze on the bus.

Well, those were just some of your thoughts on the rides you can’t stand at Disney World and why, and now we want to hear even more from you! In the meantime, stay tuned to AllEars for all the latest Disney news!
