Disney California Adventure has some INCREDIBLE eateries…but that doesn’t mean every dining option is a winner.

Right off the bat, we have to make it known — Disney California Adventure has come a long way since it opened in 2001. In fact, today, it’s an amazing park that appeals to folks of all ages thanks to its amazing attractions, theming, and — of course — eats. While this Disney Park is regarded as one of the best when it comes to food and drinks, there are a few restaurants we tend to avoid during our weekly visits.
While we wouldn’t say Disney California Adventure has any stinkers, there are three restaurants that we tend to visit infrequently, thanks to a multitude of reasons.
Lucky Fortune Cookery
We’re going to pick on San Fransokyo Square a bit with our selections, starting with Lucky Fortune Cookery.

This quick service spot offers Asian rice bowls with your choice of sauce and protein, as well as other Asian entrees and side dishes like sandwiches and pot stickers.

So here’s the thing — in our experience, the food isn’t bad, per se. We have noticed inconsistent quality, but when it hits, boy, does it hit. Still, it’s hard to put faith in a restaurant where you never truly know how the end result will taste.

With that said, Lucky Fortune is still a very popular restaurant, meaning long lines and long waits. Its demand doesn’t seem to waver due to higher-than-normal quick service prices. While the prices are not absurd, they’re definitely more than your average theme park fare.

Even though it’s not one of our favorites, we definitely recommend trying it at least once if you’re craving Asian cuisine at Disney California Adventure! It’s popular for a reason and you might actually love it!

Cocina Cucamonga Mexican Grill
We’re going to stay in San Fransokyo Square and mention Cocina Cucamonga Mexican Grill as another restaurant we’ve soured on.

Cocina Cucamonga has a lot of the same issues we mentioned about Lucky Fortune. Many reviews have cited long waits and inconsistent quality leading to poor experiences, and we’ve had similar issues in some of our visits as well.

This Mexican restaurant does have some tasty eats (when they’re done right), but if you’d rather not risk it, Rancho del Zocalo over in Disneyland Park and Paradise Garden Grill at Disney California Adventure are typically more accessible and have a better track record with us when it comes to quality control.

Magic Key Terrace
Finally, Magic Key Terrace above the Golden Vine Winery is another skippable spot, in our opinion.

For starters, this location is ONLY available to Magic Key holders and their guests (for a total of 4 guests per party) — so if you’re not a Disneyland annual passholder and aren’t traveling with one, you won’t get to visit this spot anyway.

Magic Key Terrace is also more of a lounge with specialty cocktails and light bites. So if you’re craving something heartier or at least more substantial, Lamplight Lounge is a suitable replacement.

We literally visit every week and have years and years of experience dining here. HOWEVER, taste is subjective, so we definitely recommend trying all of these places for yourself and leaving a review with us on the AllEars website!
These restaurants still have plenty of redeeming qualities and you might actually love them!
