The time has come! Tiana’s Bayou Adventure at Magic Kingdom is here and ready to go!

Since Splash Mountain closed in January 2023, we’ve been watching for every update, big and small. Now we know the new attraction will open on June 28th with two ways to ride – via Virtual Queue (which will open at 7AM and 1PM each day) or by booking a Lightning Lane after purchasing Genie+. Although we’ve seen some sneak peeks of the ride, we are FINALLY able to experience it for ourselves. If you’re a Disney fan, then you already know that the queue of a ride is almost as exciting as the ride itself. If you’re in the niche group of queue fans, this is the post for you!
Yep, today we got to walk through the queue for Tiana’s Bayou Adventure in Disney World, and we’re taking a deep dive into the details. First, though, in order for everything to make sense, we need to provide some backstory.

Tiana’s Bayou Adventure picks up the story of The Princess and the Frog after the final kiss, where you “join Princess Tiana and Louis on a musical adventure — featuring some of the powerful music from the film — as they prepare for their first-ever Mardi Gras performance.”

So, what exactly DOES happen “after the final kiss?” Well, when the film itself ends, Princess Tiana makes her dream come true when she opens her very own restaurant, Tiana’s Palace (just like the one at Disneyland)!

The storyline is set about a year after the movie, and it’s set during the Carnival season in New Orleans. Tiana’s hosting a Mardi Gras party!

But as you hop on the ride, Tiana realizes that the party is “missing a key ingredient” and she needs help finding it! From there, you join her on an adventure through the bayou.

So what’s the atmosphere like before you hop on the ride? Let’s check it out!
The Entrance
As soon as you enter the ride queue, it’s clear that you’ve exited Frontierland and have made your way into the heart of New Orleans.

When you enter the queue, you’ll of course be greeted with a sign with warnings and info.

Next up, you’ll head into the main entrance for Tiana’s Foods, and get a look an up-close look at some of the vibrant murals!

Make sure to look out for the ride warning signs — they warn that you’ll likely get wet! And you’ll want to check those health warnings before you board.
Tiana’s Foods Offices
Disney shared prior to the ride opening that the building in the queue is where you’ll be able to find the offices for Tiana’s Foods! Before you go inside, you spend some time in the outdoor queue with her garden.

Check out the bright pink birdhouse!

Whoa. Tiana’s got a whole empire back here! Those folks are headed toward the Bottling Plant.

And there’s a cannery. And it looks like there’s gonna be some musical entertainment at the party!

We stumbled onto a gardening area.

Lots of veggies in the ground!

There’s a fictional variety of peppers growing in the garden called Crescent City Princess Peppers — a reference to Tiana herself!

You can see the ride photo viewing area from the queue.

Why there’s a delivery car…

…and we think we’ve heard this advice from a Disney Princess.

We’d love to get some beignets delivered!

Now it’s time to step inside — we can’t wait to see what hidden details are in store! The first room you come to has a small office area, complete with a typewriter, some books, and a news article about Tiana’s success.

Make sure to look up on the shelves — we spotted some sentimental photos! There’s one of Tiana and Naveen as well as one with Tiana and her parents.

Next up, we found the employee check-in area, with little cards for everyone to clock in. You might spot some familiar names on the list!

And several of the employees have their own coat hooks as well!

We spotted one hook with the name “Charita,” which is a nod to Charita Carter, the lead Imagineer on Tiana’s Bayou Adventure. Another nameplate says “Leah,” which is likely a nod to Leah Chase, a chef from New Orleans who was an inspiration for Princess Tiana.

And of course, we’ve got a little inspirational poster from Tiana herself!

There’s also a notice board on the wall with posters and announcements — anyone up for cooking classes?

As you move further along, we passed a storeroom with a bunch of Tiana’s sauces and spices. Can we take these home yet?!

Seriously, SO. MUCH. FOOD.

From there, we entered the portrait hallway with pictures of Tiana and her family and friends.

The next main room is Tiana’s kitchen, and this is the one we’ve been waiting for! Tiana’s making beignets, and oh boy, it smells delicious!

The scent in here is sweet and bread-like, and oh-so yummy! Can we just stand here for the entire wait time?

And we even spotted one of Tiana’s recipe cards out on the counter, straight from her restaurant.

The last section you visit before you board the ride is the salt mine.

This is very reminiscent of the queue from Splash Mountain.

Right around the corner from there, and it’s time to board!
Boarding
The boarding area for Tiana’s Bayou Adventure is, of course, the same as the boarding area for Splash Mountain, but with new details!

There’s a shipment of products for Tiana’s Foods arriving, and everything is painted in shades of yellow and green.

The loading area is set up the same way…

…and the ride vehicles are VERRRRY similar to their predecessors.

We’re so excited that this ride is now part of Disney World, and we can’t wait for you to experience it for yourself. Make sure to follow along with us here at AllEars so that you’re always in the loop and never miss a thing.
