We are so, so, so excited to finally be riding Tiana’s Bayou Adventure in Magic Kingdom!

This new Princess and the Frog-themed attraction has replaced Splash Mountain in Frontierland. But, the iconic big drop remains in the new version of the ride and we’re sharing all the details about what you can expect when you experience it!
Tiana’s Bayou Adventure picks up the story of The Princess and the Frog “after the final kiss, and join Princess Tiana and Louis on a musical adventure – featuring some of the powerful music from the film – as they prepare for their first-ever Mardi Gras performance.”

When the film itself ends, Princess Tiana makes her dream come true when she opens her very own restaurant, Tiana’s Palace. The story of the attraction picks up during New Orleans’ Carnival season, and Tiana is hosting a Mardi Gras Party for the people of New Orleans — the community that has supported her successful restaurant.

But, the party is missing a key ingredient — so we have to help Tiana look for it — and experience that DROP in the process!
🚨SPOILERS🚨
Apologies to the headphone users, but we just couldn’t help ourselves from screaming! Here’s the big drop! 🐸💦 pic.twitter.com/8ivjazE1xf— AllEars.Net (@AllEarsNet) June 7, 2024
The feel of this drop is different as compared to its predecessor, Splash Mountain. Splash Mountain’s drop was scarier since the storyline at that point of the ride was supposed to make you scared. On Tiana’s Bayou Adventure, the drop is more light-hearted as Mama Odie is just getting you ready to get to the big party!

Although the track and drop are the same, this one feels more like a fun slide rather than a big and scary plunge. It is less ominous and more quirky!

We feel like the splash at the end is about the same. If you want to get more wet sit in the front. Otherwise, we just got sprayed since we were more shielded in our row. Overall, we liked the new feel of this drop and we can’t wait to ride Tiana’s Bayou Adventure again!
