Magic Kingdom has some STRICT costume rules. You’ll never see a colonial Cast Member in Tomorrowland — that just wouldn’t make sense!

This is true for the other Disney World parks as well, but thanks to the Utilidor system that sits under Magic Kingdom (but not underground!), Cast Members can move from land to land without being seen in the “wrong” costume. That’s why you’ll never see a Fantasyland Cast Member in Frontierland! But soon, Main Street, U.S.A. Cast Members will have a NEW look!
Disney shared a first look at these NEW costumes that will be debuting soon on Main Street, U.S.A.! They describe these turn-of-the-century costumes as being lightweight and breathable while also being made of recyclable materials.

We got a chance to talk to a lovely Cast Member named Jamie in The Emporium, who told us a little more about these costumes. As you can see above, there are many costume pieces available, but as it turns out, lots of them are interchangeable!

Instead of using gendered terms to describe these costume pieces, any of the dresses are labeled as Costume A, and any Cast Member can choose to wear either top or bottom (pink or green) with Costume A.

Costume B is the pants option, which can be worn with the long-sleeved shirt shown with the salmon tie (which is a real tie they need to tie each time — not a clip-on) or a yellow shirt with thin striping and a dark green bow tie. Cast Members can also mix and match the shirts with the ties as they’d like.

We’re sending a HUGE thank you to our new friend Jamie for all the fun information — we appreciate you!
