While the end of the summer is coming to a quick end, so is the latest tournament of many soccer fans’ favorite sport!

Major League Soccer has been playing its recent games at the ESPN Wide World of Sports with teams staying at the Disney Resorts in the meantime. Although the NBA has kicked off its games, Disney is giving MLS a magical goodbye all the way from the Magic Kingdom!
In order to mark the end of the MLS is Back Tournament, Cinderella Castle was lit up in the purple and green colors of the Orlando City Soccer Club and Portland Timbers.

The lighting is a way to commemorate the return of professional sports, like Major League Soccer, back to the ESPN Wide World of Sports. Disney also wanted to give a special thanks to all the amazing Cast Members who have helped make the events possible.

As 750 players and 500 MLS staff have been back to Disney World for their 25th season, they have completed 51 matches in 35 days. The Guinness World Records have even given Major League Soccer the World Record for the largest single location professional soccer tournament.

Although we’ve been enjoying the MLS is Back Tournament, we can’t wait to see all the other sports that may come to Disney World in the future!
