When you’re planning your vacation to Disneyland or Disney World, it’s easy to get lost in the cavalcade of delicious food you’ll be snacking on. Dole Whips, Turkey Legs, Churros: there are so many snacks that have become a tradition to eat on every Disney Parks visit.

With such a long and expansive snack history in the U.S.-based parks, we wanted to look at four OG snacks that have stood the test of time since Disneyland and Disney World first opened!
Disney Popcorn
Popcorn is a quintessential Disney Parks snack. It’s filling, easy to share, and portable (so you can easily snack as you hoof it to your Space Mountain FastPass). Since Disneyland and Disney World opened, popcorn carts have been prevalent in the park, and the salty snack is still just as beloved today. Most guests remark about the Parks’ buttery flavor, but vegans unite: this popcorn is safe for you, too!

Popcorn may be a simple snack to make, but Disney does add some flair with unique popcorn boxes and buckets that make for great souvenirs, like the Mary Blair-inspired box or Millennium Falcon popcorn bucket. And when someone in your group gets seriously hangry, you can count on Disney Parks popcorn to take the edge off.
Pretzels
The pretzel, just like popcorn before it, is another salty snack that can easily be carried around the park while you decide between waiting it out for Seven Dwarfs Mine Train or enjoying some refreshing A/C in Mickey’s PhilharMagic.

The pretzel has also seen some evolution through the years, with cream cheese and jalapeno cheese-stuffed varieties that add some extra flavor to the doughy treat. We also can’t talk about pretzels without mentioning the Mickey-shaped Pretzels, because most snacks are better when they’re Mickey-shaped.
Hot Dog
Walking down Main Street, U.S.A, is a cathartic experience for our noses, and that has a lot to do with the juicy hot dogs being served up at the Refreshment Corner (in Disneyland) and Casey’s Corner (in Magic Kingdom). It’s a simple but filling meal that takes us to the backyard grill-outs and pool parties of our childhoods.

Disney has been keeping things fresh for those who don’t just want a plain old beef hot dog with monthly specialties and event-exclusive dogs, like the Hades Hot Dog from Villains After Hours.
Ice Cream
When you’re baking in the California or Florida sun, having a cool scoop of soft-serve hits the spot. Ice Cream has been a signature snack at Disneyland and Disney World since opening thanks to the enduring appeal of ice cream parlors on Main Street.

Even though Disneyland’s original home for ice cream, Carnation Ice Cream Parlor, closed its doors in 1997, we still have a classic Main Street stop thanks to Gibson Girl Ice Cream Parlor. The refreshing sweet snack has even received its own Disney touch with the emergence of the so-popular-you-won’t-believe-how-many-they sell Mickey Ice Cream Bars.
