Why 12 PM Is About to Be an Important Time at Disney World

In Disney World, time is something that really matters on your vacation. You need to know when the Festival of Fantasy Parade kicks off, when the parks open and close, when your dining reservations are, and more.

To Cinderella, midnight was a really important time to remember. The magic ended, and she had to make it home before her wicked stepfamily! To Cinderella Castle in Magic Kingdom, noon is about to become a very important time to remember, too.

In case you missed the news, Cinderella Castle is getting repainted! The Magic Kingdom icon is shedding her pink ways and returning to what we know and love. The makeover is kicking off in January 2026, but it does mean things won’t be so picture-perfect for a while.

To return to the classic blue, silver, grey, and gold color scheme, scaffolding will likely be put up in front of the castle for so getting those picture-perfect photos of the castle might become a new challenge. That’s why noon (12 PM) is going to be so important to the castle!

Disney will be using cranes to repaint the castle, which is an added eyesore to what will be the half-painted icon. Luckily for us, Disney has confirmed the cranes will be lowered and out of sight by noon each day for those beautiful family photos you want to take.

The language that was used was “by noon,” so it could go down earlier depending on the day. Either way, keep your eyes on the castle for when it’s time to get the snapshot. The work on the castle is supposed to conclude sometime in 2026, so it won’t take longer than a year, which we can appreciate.

Starting on January 28th, you’ll also see changes to the Let The Magic Begin welcome show, Mickey’s Magical Friendship Faire, and Happily Ever After. The changes are expected to be minor, so they won’t impact this live entertainment too much. While there will be a period of time where those pictures might look a bit wonky, we’re willing to suffer through the growing pains to return to the OG colors.

We’re eager to see just how long the makeover will take, but we’re prepared to be patient for several months. Be sure to keep following AllEars for more Disney news and updates.
