Disney World has a new nighttime parade lighting up Magic Kingdom, but it won’t be shining every night this November.

If you’re heading to the park soon, you’ll want to check the schedule before making your evening plans. Disney’s newest nighttime spectacular, Disney Starlight: Dream the Night Away, will not be performing on several nights this month due to Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party. Don’t worry though—we’ve got all the details on when it will and won’t be showing, plus some tips to help you plan your visit.
What Is Disney Starlight: Dream the Night Away?
Disney Starlight: Dream the Night Away is Magic Kingdom’s latest nighttime parade that made its grand debut in July 2025. It’s Disney’s newest take on the classic light parade tradition, following in the footsteps of favorites like the Main Street Electrical Parade and SpectroMagic — but with modern technology and fresh storytelling.

The parade brings characters from both Disney and Pixar films to life under a canopy of glowing lights, synchronized music, and special effects. From Moana and Encanto to Frozen, Coco, and Wish, Disney Starlight feels both nostalgic and brand new all at once. The Blue Fairy opens the show, Whimsy (a brand-new character made of starlight) closes it out, and Mickey and Minnie sparkle in custom “Starlight” costumes that are a must-see for any Disney fan.

On regular nights, the parade runs twice — at 8PM and 10PM — traveling the Magic Kingdom parade route in reverse from Main Street, U.S.A. to Frontierland. But in November, the schedule gets a little complicated.
Why the Parade Is Taking Nights Off
As we move into the holiday season, Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party takes over select nights at Magic Kingdom. Just like with Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party in the fall, this after-hours event includes its own special entertainment lineup. That means Disney Starlight takes a break while the Christmas party’s exclusive parade, Mickey’s Once Upon a Christmastime Parade, steps into the spotlight.

Since those party nights are ticketed events, the entertainment lineup is reserved for party guests only. So if you’re visiting Magic Kingdom on a Christmas party date but don’t have a ticket to the event, you’ll need to leave the park early — and you won’t be able to see Disney Starlight that night.
The Dates You’ll Miss Disney Starlight
If you’re hoping to see Disney Starlight in November, take note of these 13 dates when the parade will not be running due to Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party:
- November 7
- November 10
- November 11
- November 13
- November 14
- November 16
- November 18
- November 20
- November 21
- November 25
- November 26
- November 28
- November 30
Those nights are reserved for the holiday party, so you’ll need to plan around them if seeing Disney Starlight is a priority.
When You Can See Disney Starlight
On non-party nights, you’ll still get to experience Disney Starlight at both its usual showtimes — 8PM and 10PM. That means there are plenty of opportunities to catch it in between the party dates.

Here are some planning tips to help you make the most of your night:
- Check the official calendar before your trip to make sure you’re booking a Magic Kingdom park day when the parade will be running.
- Arrive early for your viewing spot. The parade is still new, and guests are flocking to see it. Main Street, U.S.A. is the most popular viewing area thanks to its castle backdrop, but if you want a little more space, Frontierland is a solid choice.
- Stay for the second showing. The 10PM parade is usually less crowded, giving you a bit more breathing room (and a clearer view).
- Plan your dinner accordingly. Quick service spots like Casey’s Corner or Pecos Bill Tall Tale Inn are easy options if you want to grab a meal and still make it to your spot before the show starts.
Should You Go on a Party Night Instead?
If you have a ticket for Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party, you won’t see Disney Starlight — but you will get access to a completely different lineup of exclusive entertainment. The Christmas parade, snowfall on Main Street, themed snacks, rare character appearances, and lower wait times for rides make the party a favorite among fans.

If you’re deciding between the two experiences, it really comes down to what you want out of your evening — holiday magic and exclusive access, or the newest nighttime parade lighting up Magic Kingdom.
Plan Ahead
Disney Starlight: Dream the Night Away has quickly become a must-see part of any Magic Kingdom visit. But if you’re heading to the park in November, you’ll want to double-check those Christmas Party dates to avoid disappointment.

With 13 nights off the calendar this month, planning ahead is key to making sure you don’t miss the newest addition to Disney’s nighttime entertainment lineup.

We’ll keep you posted on any updates to the show schedule. Until then, be sure to check back with AllEars soon for more.
