If you HATE carrying around luggage during your Disney World vacation, this hotel perk is here to save the day!
Disney World has been testing out a returning hotel perk that eases checkout and airport travel days, and we think it’s a game changer! If you’re staying at a Disney World Value Resort, here’s how YOU can take advantage of this perk!
Right now, you can take advantage of a FREE hotel perk that lets you send your bags straight to the airport on checkout day!
The perk lets you bypass visiting the bag drop-off counter at Orlando International Airport as long as you are flying Southwest Airlines AND staying at one of Disney World’s Value Resort hotels.
The perk specifics are as follows:
You must be staying at Disney’s All-Star Movies Resort, Disney’s All-Star Music Resort, Disney’s All-Star Sports Resort, Disney’s Art of Animation Resort, or Disney’s Pop Century Resort.
You must also have a return flight with Southwest Airlines and must be flying OUT of Orlando International Airport.
A valid form of photo identification and a boarding pass are required when you drop off your bags.
To partake in the perk, drop your checked baggage off with Luggage Assistance, which will allow your bags to be delivered directly to your flight.
Check in for your Southwest Airlines flight online one day before your departure and — once checked in — you can drop off your bags at Luggage Assistance in the hotel lobby area by the required drop-off time. You can also call Luggage Assistance from your hotel room phone to ask for help with your bags.
If you are flying before 1 PM, drop your bags off by 1 AM the night before your flight. If you are flying after 1 PM, drop your bags off at least four hours before your departure time or no later than 1 PM (whichever comes first).
The Luggage Assistance desk is open to receive luggage from 5 AM to 1 AM.
You will be able to track your luggage once it’s collected and sent to the airport via the Southwest app.
Right now, Disney suggests calling or visiting Luggage Assistance at the beginning of your stay to take advantage of this service. They also recommend leaving your inbound Southwest Airlines tags on your bags.
During this rollout, the service does NOT include luggage transportation from the Orlando International Airport to your hotel.
This perk saves SO MUCH time and hassle, and we think it’s awesome for families who are stressed out enough on checkout day.
