The #1 Reason Disney Adults Are SKIPPING EPCOT in 2025

EPCOT is one of the most unique parks in all of Walt Disney World.

EPCOT

It’s where you can sip on a margarita in Mexico, grab some fish and chips in the UK, and then hop on a time machine through history – all in one day. But despite all the magic EPCOT has to offer, some Disney adults are saying, “Maybe next time.” To that point, we thought we’d reach out to you and get your takes on why you’re skipping out on EPCOT in 2025.

We reached out to our followers on Facebook and Instagram to ask: “Are you skipping EPCOT this year? If so, what’s making you say “maybe next time”?” We had quite a few people leave their opinions in the comments!

What do you think?

Now, let’s go over some of your top responses!

It’s All About Travel Priorities

One of the biggest reasons some of you are skipping EPCOT this year is that you’ve got travel plans elsewhere. For a lot of Disney fans, there’s only so much vacation time and budget to go around, and EPCOT is just not making the cut.

For example, Jan shared, “Going to Disneyland Paris this year.” Disneyland Paris has some incredible attractions that you can’t get anywhere else, and if you have the chance to go, we totally get making that the priority.

Similarly, Kara is opting for an even bigger adventure: “I’m not sure whether we’re going to the Florida parks this year because we’re going to Japan this summer. If we do go to Florida, we’re definitely not skipping EPCOT! My parents owe me a ride on Spaceship Earth after our last trip!” And let’s be real, if you have a choice between Walt Disney World and Tokyo Disneyland…well, let’s just say Tokyo Disneyland is a bucket list trip.

EPCOT Isn’t Always a Hit with the Kids

While EPCOT has a lot to offer for adults (we see you World Showcase), it’s not always a top pick for families with kids. For example, Francie shared, “We might skip Epcot. The kids would definitely rather do a different park.”

Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure

We can understand that. Magic Kingdom has the most rides, Hollywood Studios has all things Star Wars, and Animal Kingdom has, well…actual animals. EPCOT’s vibe is more relaxed, and while it’s gotten more kid-friendly over the years (shoutout to Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure and Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind), it’s still not always the first choice for younger guests.

Other Theme Parks Are Calling

Universal is stepping up its game, and some Disney adults are choosing to branch out this year. To that, Patrick shared, “Epcot has been the only Disney park I’ve done since 2018. If I’m back in September for HHN, I plan to switch my Epcot day for a day at Epic. I guess it depends on what’s happening at the Food & Wine Festival.”

Epic Universe Model

With Universal Orlando’s new Epic Universe set to open soon and Halloween Horror Nights being a major draw for spooky season fans, it’s no surprise that some folks are swapping their EPCOT plans for something different.

EPCOT Is a “Half-Day” Park for Some

Not everyone is fully skipping EPCOT – some are just doing it differently. Nikki shared, “We aren’t skipping Epcot this year but it is our travel day park. It will be a half day park for us. We are only going to try for Guardians and Remy.”

Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind

For those who have been to EPCOT multiple times, they might not feel the need to spend a full day there. Prioritizing the must-do attractions and skipping the rest can be a great way to experience the park without dedicating a whole day to it.

But for Some EPCOT is Non-Negotiable

Not everyone is willing to skip EPCOT – some of you are ride-or-die for this park. For example, Ellen made it clear: “I could never skip Epcot. Or Magic Kingdom. I love them so much, they are so different, each one is its own experience. Maybe next time for AK and HS.”

Craig echoed that sentiment, saying, “Absolutely not !!! I will be going-to Epcot. It’s a great park with tremendous views, rides, and food. Not the Park to skip. I think it’s getting better for everyone in the family, kids as well as adults.”

EPCOT

Well, those were just some of your thoughts on why you might be skipping EPCOT this year, and now we want to hear even more from you! In the meantime, stay tuned to AllEars for all the latest Disney news!

  1. Visited today for first time. Too crowded. I won’t go back to it or any of the other parks. There are better ways to spend our vacation dollars

  2. We are currently staying at Disney’s Vero Beach Resort. Last year we stayed here and then spent 6 days at WDW. The one thing we had planned was going to Epcot for the Flower and Garden Festival and sampling the food at the kiosks rather than making reservations at a restaurant. But the plan totally back fired as the lines to eat at the kiosks were so long, we had to abandon the plan. We had done that before and did not encounter 30-45 minute waits at each kiosk. At Vero- no lines. We have visited lots of Nature areas including Merritt Island National Wildlife Refuge and had no waits at restaurants, no lines to do what we wanted, went to a Mets game for $38 A ticket and sat by the pool or the beach. Having a wonderful time. Tomorrow night we see Singing in the Rain at the local theatre.
