NEWS: Tokyo Disney Announces Possible Expansion, Removal of Beloved Attractions

We’ve got massive news coming out of Tokyo Disney Resort!

It was only last year, in June 2024, that Fantasy Springs opened in Tokyo DisneySea, but now early concept art has been released by The Oriental Land Co., showcasing a potential expansion coming throughout the next decade — check it out!

The first image revealed shows potential BIG changes coming to Adventureland and Westernland. Based on the concept art, it looks like Tokyo Disneyland is teasing the potential removal of Jungle Cruise, the Enchanted Tiki Room, Swiss Family Treehouse, as well as the train to make room for a new Adventureland that could feature attractions inspired by Pixar’s UP and The Incredibles.

The second piece of concept art shows plans for an expanded Port Discovery in Tokyo DisneySea which shows the potential removal of Aquatopia to make room for a new attraction and more.

This concept art was included in Oriental Land Co.’s financial earnings report, talking about their plans for theme park growth through 2035. Based on their proposed timeline, these larger projects won’t begin construction until closer to 2029 and beyond.

In the meantime, they’re focusing on a full year of Fantasy Springs operation this year, Tokyo DisneySea’s 25th Anniversary events in 2026, the redesign of Space Mountain’s area in 2027 as well as a new Wreck-It-Ralph attraction, and Tokyo Disney Resort’s 45th Anniversary events in 2028. In 2031 we can also expect to see celebrations for Tokyo DisneySea’s 30th Anniversary, and in 2033, celebrations for Tokyo Disney Resort’s 50th Anniversary.
