If you’re visiting Disneyland soon, you’ll want to know about these ongoing and upcoming closures.
The Disneyland Resort is gearing up for a big year (and a big year after that) with its 70th anniversary celebrations. Taking place starting on May 16th, 2025, and going until Summer 2026, the celebration promises to be something special with plenty of shows, experiences, and more. However, before the festivities get underway, the Disneyland Resort is doing some housekeeping among several of its attractions.
This April, Disneyland Park and Disney California Adventure will have a combined 12 attractions closed for refurbishment. They are as follows:
Disneyland Park
Dumbo the Flying Elephant — Closed April 22nd & 23rd
If you HAVE to ride Dumbo the Flying Elephant, make sure you visit after April 23rd, 2025.
This ride is closed for only two days (April 22nd and April 23rd), fortunately.

“it’s a small world” — Reopening April 25th, 2025
The world-famous “it’s a small world” has been closed for refurbishment since its holiday overlay ended, but is set to return on April 25th, 2025.
When the ride reopens, it’ll feature Dante and Miguel from Pixar’s Coco in the Mexico part of the ride.

Indiana Jones Adventure — Reopening April 25th, 2025
Indiana Jones Adventure in Adventure is one of Disneyland’s most popular attractions, but it’s also one that requires tons of routine maintenance.
The ride has been closed for refurbishment since March 17th but will reopen on April 25th, 2025.

Rough “jeep” ride through a lost temple. Fairly dark, with snakes, skeletons, and rats.
Matterhorn Bobsleds — UPDATE: Closed May 5th to TBD
Another attraction that needs constant touch-ups is Matterhorn Bobsleds.
The attraction was originally scheduled to close for refurbishment on April 28th, 2025. That, however, was later moved — it is now scheduled to close May 5th. A reopening date has yet to be announced.

Jerky roller coaster bobsled ride through Matterhorn Mtn., more tight turns than drops. Watch out for the abominable snowman!
Walt Disney’s Enchanted Tiki Room — Closed April 28th to TBD
Another attraction closing on April 28th is Walt Disney’s Enchanted Tiki Room.
This attraction currently does not have a posted reopening date.

Great Moments with Mr. Lincoln and Walt Disney — A Magical Life — Opening July 17th, 2025
Previously expected to open on May 16th, Walt Disney — A Magical Life is now set to debut on July 17th, 2025, instead.
That show will have a solo run of its own for an unknown amount of time before it joins a rotating schedule with Great Moments with Mr. Lincoln in the Main Street Opera House.
Meet Tinker Bell in Pixie Hollow — Closed Indefinitely
It’s been a while since we could Meet Tinker Bell in Pixie Hollow. While the attraction is still featured on the Disneyland website, it’s been so long since we could do this that it almost feels defunct.
As of right now, the Disneyland calendar shows this attraction as unavailable indefinitely.

Redwood Creek Challenge Trail — Reopening April 11th
The Redwood Creek Challenge Trail has been closed for a short refurbishment that is about to end.
The trail will reopen soon on April 11th, 2025.

Kids' play area, including rock climbing wall, suspension bridges, and a swing from one side to another.
Soarin’ Around the World — Closed April 28th Through May 1st, 2025
Soarin’ is currently in its Over California version right now. On April 22nd, it will swap back to its usual Around the World version. But then it will go through a brief refurbishment closure at the end of the month.
The ride’s closure will be brief, as it will only be down between April 28th and May 1st, 2025.
Sorcerer’s Workshop — Closed April 28th Through May 12th, 2025
Sorcerer’s Workshop will undergo a brief refurbishment beginning April 28th.
This interactive workshop will reopen on May 13th, 2025.

Anna & Elsa’s Royal Welcome — Closed April 28th Through May 12th, 2025
Similar to the Sorcerer’s Workshop, Anna & Elsa’s Royal Welcome will close on April 28th.
This meet-and-greet will reopen on May 13th, 2025, as well.

While Disneyland and Disney world imagineers are at it. They should close Tiana’s Bayou Adventure and retheme it to the princess and the frog splash Bayou and add more animatronics to empty spaces, give us spoonbill birds, lady butterflies, Reggie, Darnell, two fingers 3 men, Buford, 2 fenner bros, Lawrence, showboat miniature, spooky dolls, masks, spirits and bring back Dr facilier and add 2 songs in the ride when we’re human and friends on the other side at the dropoff. Replace special spice song with down in New Orleans finale song. Then I’ll ride it again. Otherwise I’ll continue to watch fanfiction YouTube video ride revision ideas with Dr facilier. By the way it’s the 98th anniversary of the 1927 Mississippi river flood.
Yes. We will disappointed. We plan to visit.bits a long ways from Colorado. And that’s a huge amount of stuff to miss out on all at once. To bad don’t reflect that in price.
