Construction UPDATE: See the NEW Hotel Opening at Disney World in 2027

If you are planning to visit Disney World this year, you will be met with quite a bit of construction.

The good news is that there are so many new and exciting projects on the horizon at Disney World, such as new rides, lands, attractions, lounges, and even a nighttime parade. While there are tons of updates coming to the parks, there are also updates coming to some Disney World hotels, including a new resort!

The Island Tower at Disney’s Polynesian Villas & Bungalows may be Disney World’s newest resort, but it won’t be long before the title is passed over to a resort near Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground and Disney’s Wilderness Lodge.

Towards the end of 2024, it was announced that a new Disney Vacation Club hotel would take the place of the previously announced Relections — A Disney Lakeside Lodge Resort.

The new hotel is now called Disney’s Lakeshore Lodge, and it is set to open in 2027. Although this is a Disney Vacation Club resort, non-DVC members will be able to book a stay here. Construction is moving right along!

We recently took a trip on one of Magic Kingdom‘s boat launches to check out the construction of this resort, and we are happy to report that it seems like Disney is making solid progress as there are so many cranes working on the new hotel.

Construction

Although we do not have many details about this new addition to Disney World, Disney said that the resort “will be inspired by the majesty of nature and its enduring influence on Disney artists.” From the concept art that Disney released, it seems that some of Disney’s intellectual property will be used in the theming, as we spotted Bambi, Thumper, and Flower.

We will continue to keep an eye out for any new concept art and updates and will continue to monitor construction as this resort is set to open in just a few years.
