Swifties, we have exciting news! After several hints and easter eggs dropping over the last several weeks, we finally have confirmation that Taylor Swift will be a part of Toy Story 5!
We are SO excited about this news, so let’s get into everything we learned from this announcement!
If you’ve been following along with the Taylor Swift x Toy Story 5 saga, you know this all started a few weeks ago when a countdown was posted on Taylor’s website that appeared to have the iconic Toy Story cloud background.
Nothing came from this countdown, but it got everyone thinking that Taylor Swift might have a new song in the upcoming movie. Things were pretty quiet after that until yesterday, when Pixar posted the following video!
This shows a billboard featuring “TS” which could stand for both Toy Story or Taylor Swift, with that iconic background and Jessie dancing. However, it was the caption that really sealed the deal: “She’s making those moves up as she goes!” Which is a reference to a lyric from the Taylor Swift song “Shake It Off.”
However, there still wasn’t a direct confirmation of her involvement in the movie. Until now! It was just announced that Taylor Swift will have an all-new original song in the movie called “I Knew It, I Knew You.” All the fan theories were correct, and she confirmed the collaboration with this post on her Instagram!
Taylor explains that she “instantly fell in love with Toy Story 5” when she got the chance to see it in an early screening and then wrote the song immediately!
In addition to confirming the song and announcing the title, fans can also purchase limited-time Collector’s Edition CD’s for the new song. One for the original version of the song, one for the acoustic version, and finally one for the piano version! These CDs look incredible and include photos of Taylor and some of the Toy Story characters. If you want any of these CDs, you need to act fast, because they are only available for 48 hours, and while supplies last!
