Are We Just Gonna Ignore This Part of Disney World’s Massive Hotel Announcement?!

It’s our job to report on all the latest Disney news. That includes new rides, major closures, new shows, and even new hotels! So, at this point, we’re not necessarily surprised when Disney World announces a new hotel.

It’s always fun to see what kind of NEW resorts Disney has planned. Oh, and speaking of new hotels, there is a new hotel coming to Disney World in 2027 called Disney Lakeshore Lodge, and we feel like there’s a BIG part of this development a lot of people aren’t talking about.

OK, stick with us because the names can be confusing. So Disney Lakeshore Lodge is the NEW name for an old Disney project called Reflections – A Disney Lakeside Lodge resort. The land is situated right near Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort and Campground, right on Bay Lake.

Reflections — A Disney Lakeside Lodge was announced several years ago, before the pandemic, but construction was apparently halted when the parks and resorts reopened. Since then, Disney hasn’t shared many details about the Lakeshore Lodge resort, but they did say that “The resort will be inspired by the majesty of nature and its enduring influence on Disney artists.”

Here’s a peek at some of the concept art for this new hotel. We know that it will be a brand-new Disney Vacation Club resort, and it is expected to open in 2027.

Remember how we said the new hotel will be located near Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort and Disney’s Wilderness Lodge? Well, if you look at this aerial overview, you can see the green roof of Disney’s Wilderness Lodge on the righthand side of the photo (the brown dirt-covered area is the new hotel). They’re neighbors!

So, now that we’ve established the location let’s talk about an important question you might have. What’s the transportation situation going to be like at this new DVC Resort? Wilderness Lodge, Fort Wilderness, and Lakeshore Lodge will all be pretty close to each other, so will they share a route to Magic Kingdom via boat? What about the buses? Will Disney add another boat route specifically for Lakeshore Lodge? There’s only so much room around that area of the lake, so will there be overcrowding? Will guests get confused about which boat they’re supposed to be on?

Disney has not shared any details about how transportation will be handled at this new hotel. Our guess is that Disney will have a new dedicated bus stop and boat dock, and if you want to take a boat to Magic Kingdom, you may have to visit a few other hotels along the way.

For now, all we can do is wait to see what other information Disney will reveal about this new hotel, and we’ll be keeping an eye out for it all, so stay tuned to AllEars!

  1. Yes – people will get confused with the 3rd resort and boat transportation. Each resort name shares a word with one of the other 2 resorts – Lakeshore Lodge, Wilderness Lodge and Fort Wilderness. People NOW are getting Fort Wilderness & WL confused!!

  2. I am not thrilled with this new hotel project. It looks a bit like the Polynesian tower, with rustic elements thrown in at the front. The peaceful, bucolic nature of this part of the lake is sure to get busier, especially with transportation. Where, or where, can one retreat from the crowds anymore? Instead of building more rooms, how about Disney build a fifth gate to absorb all the D23 projects and the additional crowds?

    1. My fifth gate wish is a park for retired rides and attractions.

      GMR muppets Capt.EO
      Lights camera action,
Backstage christmas lights spectromagic parade, and anything else they close at main parks.
Cranes move things, and the stuff has to be taken somewhere. Instead of destroying the past recycle it and tame the hostility to constant change. What a crowd pleaser. Of course you would have to maintain the park attractions. And rebuild the ones destroyed by demolition.

If folks dont like it go to other parks.

Everyone in this scenario is happy (?)

New gate / revenue stream and company history saved and customers memories preserved to a point.

      Anyone agree ?
